Gaggia Classic Up - where does it fit compared to GaggiaMate and self-modding?

i think the majority of people don't mod their machines (this sub self selects remember) so for them they now have a choice a good starter machine vs a prosumer machine if my modded e24 blew up tomorrow i would probably get a profitec move. but for now i love my little gaggia. the classic looks. the

Is Grinder over Machine still true?

I can only emphasize on balance. In my case I worked myself up to a DF64 on a Sage barista express, had constantly issues with consistency. I then bought a used Gaggia classic, restored it and it made a HUGE difference. Now I'm happy and wondering for how long 😅

Sunshine in my kitchen

I absolutely love the warm vibes of the pic, man. I'm also loving the Gaggia Classic with brass boiler. Mine is an E24, currently playing with a bottomless Normcore Slim and an IMS basket. Quite happy with the results - and the extra vertical space to fit in the balance without having to change the

What espresso machine did you start on, and would you recommend it to a beginner today?

Just got a Gaggia Classic a few months ago, so still learning lots but I think I’m doing ok. I’ve been temp surfing with it and that’s made wonders for consistency, I want to get one of the PID mods for it soon tho lol.

What espresso machine did you start on, and would you recommend it to a beginner today?

Have nearly 25 years old Gaggia classic ( pressure modded only) Eureka grinder It’s up to you to believe me or not but I have not tasted better espresso for nearly two decades than what I make at home. Whom ever tries my coffee swears by it. Bottom line is GC is an excellent espresso machine. Pair i

Rec for buying an at home espresso machine [Budget up to $2k]

Gaggia classic is a very capable machine. If you want something easy, I recommend Nespresso. If you want to explore espresso as a hobby, keep the Gaggia and improve your grind and puck prep.

Well, it was a good run!

I agree w previous poster: Gaggia e24 and get an espresso grinder like Baratza Encore ESP or Sette.Bottomless portafilter too. I've had 2 Gaggia Classics for 15 years (one at home, one at work) and they still perform perfectly. As said before the secret is a good espresso grinder.

Installed the brass boiler and Silvia steam wand

It was a refurbished Gaggia Classic Evo Pro. The brass boiler has 25% more capacity and brass holds heat better than the original aluminum boiler. So it’ll have better performance all around once it’s heated up. The downside is it’s heavier and takes longer to heat up. If you want the brass boiler j
