Trying to use the pressurized filter, insanely fast to 36g.

Do not use the pressurized basket. It adds artificial resistance that should be coming from the coffee puck and not the basket. Use the regular double shot basket instead. The coffee grounds are probably too coarse, thats why its fast. Taste it anyway, though. Fast does not always mean it's bad. Oth

What espresso machine did you start on, and would you recommend it to a beginner today?

Have nearly 25 years old Gaggia classic ( pressure modded only) Eureka grinder It’s up to you to believe me or not but I have not tasted better espresso for nearly two decades than what I make at home. Whom ever tries my coffee swears by it. Bottom line is GC is an excellent espresso machine. Pair i

How Good Is a Stock Gaggia Classic Pro?

yes its worth what they ask for it. Refurbished is a good bang for your buck subjectively but in the price range every machine has its positives and negatives. The Bambino is IMO the strongest competator but the build quality and ability to mod a GCP is worth it over a Bambino. DF54 is great for the

Installed the brass boiler and Silvia steam wand

It was a refurbished Gaggia Classic Evo Pro. The brass boiler has 25% more capacity and brass holds heat better than the original aluminum boiler. So it’ll have better performance all around once it’s heated up. The downside is it’s heavier and takes longer to heat up. If you want the brass boiler j

Gaggia Classic Modding Honest Read needed

Getting a used E24 up to the point it’s better than a Gaggia up is gonna cost about 1k altogether plus your time. You can brew by weight by just stopping the machine when you see yours desired weight on the scale. You can do that on a stock Gaggia. I’d just get the Up if you don’t wanna deal with in

Gaggia Classic Modding Honest Read needed

My level of knowledge and skill in regards to tinkering about are, I would consider, pretty low. I have no idea how a computer works, but i have built about a dozen of them, I don't really understand much about electricity and would never give any real advice to anyone about it, but i am sensible en

California cafe chain Philz Coffee orders Pride flags removed from stores. It's not going well

Honestly though at 8 bucks a latte you could go full on home barista and make it work. Gaggia classic and a high end grinder and you’ve got your money back in a few months. Bonus is vastly reduced waste and coffee grounds for fertilizer. I haven’t bought more than an occasional coffee out since the
