Is a Nikon D850 a good choice for photomicrography in 2026?

Yes to all of this. I used various Canon 5D series DSLRs for years doing exactly this. Just upgraded to a R5 Mark II (mirrorless) but either will work

Lumix s5m2 high res mode vs canon r5m2 45mp

"left canon, right Lumix" This is just mind blowing. To all who purchased the(I purchased S5iiX) S5ii or S5iiX, you are really smart. The feature of being able to do 96MP raw file is what closed it for me. Just use that tripod you purchased years ago, the raw files are insane in detail. I purchased

Immigrant from Canon, settled on S1M2. Never knew I would ever own Lumix! Any tips?

Honestly. Accurate. I will never understand how R5m2 is considered “hybrid”. I was one step far away from ordering C50 and considered R6m3 for 20mins but nah… One thing I hate about Canon was they play games too much with customers. How come $3,899 worth of “hybrid camera” in 2025 cannot do 4k 60p o

My photo of the Jerami Grant dunk!

I think the R3, at the time, was overpriced - now, it's "okay". My main body is actually the R5mk2! Which I think the R5 series is the best bang for buck, it's fast enough, it has a higher MP, and all needs like Pre-Capture. The lens is what Canon has over Sony, but honestly if I were to start from

Resist the temptation of a Canon R6 II

I've just moved from R5ii + 100-500L to OM kit. I now use the OM-1ii with the 300 f/4 Pro, 50-200 f/2.8 Pro, and both TCs. I don't notice any compromise to the subject detection AF, or AF speed. I also don't see any significant difference in real-world image quality unless you are pixel-peeping. Wha

Would you guys grab a refurbished r5 mark II from Amazon ?

No manufacturer warranty for one (you get one year from canon refurb) Lots of horror stories with electronics from amazon in general. For a few bucks more you can get a lot more piece of mind https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/refurbsished-eos-r5-mark-ii-body?cjdata=MXxOfDB8WXww&type=Refurbished&cjeve

In your experience, what are the most reliable mirrorless cameras your photographers have used on set?

Canon R5 has been reliable on set, less noise then R5II. Also currently discounted

Going to Madagascar: what camera to buy

a full frame camera, a telephoto for wildlife and a wider angle lens for landscapes. but.... spending that much on photo equipment is probably wasteful if you don't know how to properly use it. buying a £10,000 guitar will not help you to play flamenco unless you have a certain knowledge base. that

Keep DSLR or upgrade to mirrorless for kid and family photography?

I know mirrorless is better quality images I’m not sure how true this is. Take for example if you have a Canon 6D Mark ii. A Canon RP will have exactly the same sensor so the inherent “quality” will be the same when using the same lenses. It is, however, the shooting experience that will be differen
