So glad to have the Swallows back!
Thank you! Canon R5Mk2 + RF100-500. The auto focus ability of that combo is insane. It helps so much, but there is a ton of patience, getting to know the behavior of the animals as there is a pattern to their madness, and of course a ton of missed shots. Precapture is on, but only really makes a dif

Why the Pocket 4K needs a V2
For what it’s worth I’m a full time videographer (not cinematographer) working closely with brands such as Amazon, Uber, Honda, Tourism Australia etc. My daily is the pocket 4K, original, with the ultra speed booster for a full frame circle and I have to say the new Nikon ZR, canon R5II etc are clos

Most photographers don’t need better gear, they need better taste
If you have no skills, you’re still likely to take lousy photos whether you have $100 worth of gear or $20,000 worth of gear. Once you have a certain level of skill, lower quality gear can absolutely hold you back, especially if you’re shooting fast-moving subjects or in low light. Sports photograph

Got the X2D II & 20-35E! Need Suggestions!!!
Fwiw the X2D is kind of a specialised tool, I think the fact that you’re forced to use the ginormous and expensive 35-100 just for AF-C is a symptom of that. Don’t get me wrong I also use a camera that’s far too big (GFX 100 with a 45-100), but over the years I’ve come to think that while the 100mp

Just curious, how many of you here are professional photographers?
I have the F4 for travel. They are quite small, and I can fit the 14-35, 24-105, 70-200 all f4 with an R5ii in a sling bag. And there's a space for a small prime as well, depending on where I am going/what I plan to do. The RF 28 f/2.8 pancake is really small and barely noticeable on the R5ii. As fo

New Photography Niche
Good luck. For a car show any camera will be fine. There's two types of fast. Fast lenses are low aperture number (very large opening) that catch a lot of light in low-light scenarios, like car shows inside big halls. The trade-off is insanely small focus area and insane price. Then there's fast fps

Resist the temptation of a Canon R6 II
I've just moved from R5ii + 100-500L to OM kit. I now use the OM-1ii with the 300 f/4 Pro, 50-200 f/2.8 Pro, and both TCs. I don't notice any compromise to the subject detection AF, or AF speed. I also don't see any significant difference in real-world image quality unless you are pixel-peeping. Wha

Is Nikon Z the best camera series or am I missing something?
I don't see how Canon is better on absolutely any front For me: Ergonomics (this is huge—Nikon is pretty good here, but as much as I love Sony, their ergonomics don't work for me) Color science AF (R5II and others) Best support for my vast collection of amazing and unique EF glass, especially my EF

Northern Cardinals are EVERYWHERE in Austin, but this is the first time I capture one flying at my face.
No, haha even though these kinda look like that because of the harsh sunlight. I shoot on a Canon R5 mark II, but it can be done easily on cheaper cameras. I'm always down to share the little bit I know if you're ever interested. Thank you so much!

Just a mom with her camera
I posted a while ago, but I also shoot lacrosse and here are my recommendations: Getting a camera with fast autofocus and player tracking has been Huge for me. I moved from an R8 to the R5m2 (Canon). Won't go into the specs, but you can find similar cameras from Sony and Nikon. Preshooting and highs
