Which is the better buy for 24/7 home server?

Definitely do not go for Aoostar or lesser quality brands. If your main worry is 24/7 reliability, I’d stop thinking in terms of “which one box is perfect?” and start thinking in terms of nodes in a cluster. The Beelink SER5 Max gives you a stronger iGPU and more RAM out of the box (6800H + 32 GB DD

PC illiterate - Help on finding a mini

The problem with the Beelink SER5 MAX 7735HS beyond the rebadged 6800H processor is the cost cutting lack of USB4 and the fact it's never been listed on the official website. I've also read that these 24GB LPDDR5 memory Beelink minis have problems like this. https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/s/rECBW7

There are way too many options available, even searching this sub its hard to figure out which I should get for budget PS2 Emulation.

Any mini with RDNA2 Radeon RX 680M integrated graphics + 32GB of memory is a solid starting point for BatoceraOS classic console emulation and/or a BazziteOS Steam Deck console. The recently released/oddly named Beelink SER5 MAX (SER6-LP) 6800U has been popular locally for such projects.

Tech help

the ram market is fuuuucked but for like 500 bucks you can get a decent mini pc, checkout the beelink SER5 max (7735hs, 24gb ram). I have a laptop with the same chip and beam runs at medium with a couple traffic cars pretty well. The iGPU is very good, mostly bottlenecked by the bandwidth of the ram

Mini-PC recomendations for up to ps3

I've seen a listing for Beelink ser5 Max (CPU 6800u, 32 Go lpddr5, 1 to SSD (upgrade) PCIe 4.0 x 4 NVME SSD) for around 360€ and I think it may be the sweet spot between emulating everything up to PS3 (with hit or miss) and having the amount of ddr (32Go) to compensate the difference between the hig

Emulation Station - Good Choice? Help!

Take a look at the beelink Ser5 max. Slightly cheaper, nearly identical CPU, but with 24 GB LPDDR5 which is not upgradable but is actually slightly faster.

What 'affordable' machine do you use for Claude Cowork?

Running Claude on a Beelink SER5 with Ryzen 5 5560U and 16GB RAM, zero issues so far. It handles everything smoothly for daily coding sessions. 16GB is the sweet spot for keeping things responsive without overspending. If you can stretch to 32GB it gives you more headroom for multitasking, but 16 wo

How are Beelink Mini PCs?

Out of the mini PCs I tried Beelink was among the better built. The SER9 I had was also the most difficult to inspect and maintain. Overly complicated. My concerns with the SER5 MAX 7735HS have been past reports on their implementation of LPDDR5 24GB and the fact it's not on their official website.

What's the point of a laptop if a mini pc has the same specs for way less

The point is literally portability and an all-in-one package, that's what the premium of a laptop's cost is. A battery, screen, keyboard all connected in one slick package. I did switch off a laptop though since I was pretty much never using it away from my desk and it was on its last legs after a d

Looking for a mini pc with dual channel ram

Beelink is a pretty well known Chinese mini pc brand. Beelink and Minisforum were considered the top two Chinese mini pc brands back in 2022 when I bought my mini pcs; Beelink SER4 (Ryzen 4700u) and Minisforum EliteMini TH50 (i5-11320h). Beelink has generally been able to maintain good quality contr
