Yes happened to me too. Very annoying my portafilter got stuck as well. Happened a lot on my ascaso dream. Using a puck screen or lower dosage seem to solve it.

nice find on a secondhand Ascaso, those are solid machines when they're maintained right. That screen (the shower screen) unscrews pretty easily on most machines, you can take it off and soak it in a cleaning solution to get the old coffee oils out.
