Buy an espresso machine that's 5K or save up for a better one in the future?
This is the one advice, OP, that you should take to heart. Start with a good grinder, grind your beans fresh. Tapos kahit entry level espresso machine, like say a Delonghi Dedica, Ascaso Dream, or a Bambino Plus, okay na yun.

Woohoo... ES1 Delivered.
It’s been perfect for me. I switched from an Ascaso Dream PID to the ES1 and it feels like a huge upgrade. I’ve had the Niche for a few years and it’s great. Super easy to dial in grinds and the 58mm sized grind cup simplifies everything. Might not be the best if you also do drip or pour over but gr

A (long) review of the Ascaso Dream PID
Late reply but It's a really good machine. Only downsides are taking long to heat up for steam. Drip tray is small and the discharge pipe that ypu habe to move back and forth when emptying the drip tray. Also price is crazy, for that price you'll get a dual boiler Lelit Elizabeth. So only reason to

Is Ascaso Dream a good starting machine? [$600]
The Ascaso Dream machines are very reliable and consistent. I got my first in 2007, and have used it almost daily. I've only replaced some of the rubber parts (gaskets, o-rings) just to see if I could do it. I have been buying them and refurbishing them as a hobby for the last few years since my ret

Upgrade from Rancilio Siliva V5 to Ascaso Steel Duo PID V1 / Profitec GO [~400 €]
I would argue against Ascaso. I have Dream Pid and Duo Steel Pid and both machines are very flimsy. Duo has very quirky steam and Dream is very weak if the puck in't prepped good enough. I would go with Profitec which I would buy if it would fit my coffee corner. I was in the shop for measurement an
