Update KB5063878, show of hands?

My friend just had a <1 year old WD Blue SN580 2TB (Nvme, DRAM-less) completely killed after the latest update and after AFAIK a large zip file copy containing lots of video files for video editing projects... I dealt with this 2 days ago but I assume the failure happened in the past week or so. It

WD Gre

PC randomly crashes after upgrading to Windows 11

So one of the errors in the Event Viewer was Event ID 11, stornvme. The driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort2. After a google search I found this reddit thread, talking about a similar SSD (SN580, while I have the WD_BLACK SN770) having crashing issues on Windows 11 version 24H2. T

WD Black SN770 en 2 To.

crytical_process-died (0xEF) only when running on battery — HP 255 G8 with aftermarket DRAM-less NVMe SSD

The health percentage has no relation to the current health of the drive. It's a wear metric mostly tied to the remaining warrantied writes. With the actual SMART parameters, they were nerfed into the ground with NVMe. The only useful ones remaining are 'Critical Warning' and 'Media and Data Integri

My new self-assembled PC continues to give me problems starting up.

UPDATE: after the problem returned (again yes), i found the definitive solution talking with a person on an italian forum. And the problem was the firmware of the ssd. Wd blue sn580 had this problem with specific windows 11 updates (specifically version 24H2) that increased the HMB memory allocation
