Amazing new line of UNAS

Did Ubiquiti finally realize that seven unevenly spaced discs in a NAS looked stupid? The UNAS pro 8 looks much better.

UPS 2U pairing with UNAS Pro 8.

Yes, the UPS 2U outputs a simulated sine wave, which can in theory cause instability with active PFC power supplies like the UNAS Pro’s. But I find it unlikely Ubiquiti would build first-party graceful shutdown integration between these two products without bench-testing that the stepped waveform fa

What do I overlook here

That’s what I just got, though one of the reasons in the depth. I couldn’t fit the unas pro 8 in my rack. Also, the WAF… unas pro is a lot more palatable. Just remember you can’t run VMs on any of the ubiquiti NASs. You’ll need a separate server

Why is DAS not more popular a solution than NAS?

I'd like to see more low power, pure NAS appliances come to market because, yes, there are tons of advantages to running your application serving on low powered miniPCs vs a monster all-in-one solution (Proxmox clustering is a big one!). Ubiquiti's UNAS Pro is a good example of one.

UPS & UNAS Pro 8 - I know they’re incompatible but can anyone confirm my understanding?

Most of those people don't really know what they're talking about. They see "simulated" sine wave and freak out thinking it's a fundamentally flawed product, when it is not. I am not an electrical engineer but all the research I've seen has shown that the lack of pure sine wave is not as big a deal

Synology Reverses Policy Banning Third-Party HDDs After NAS sales plummet

Too late for my case where I was picking a rack mount NAS. Picked QNAP TS-832PXU-4G as the main NAS and UNAS PRO from ubiquiti as a backup, secondary use... just cuz it was like 500€. Hate that it does not have iscsi, love that it has SFP+ but its really solid thing and absolutely nothing can beat i

Help for UNAS-Pro-4, from someone who owns one!

i don't have one to run the commands for you, but from everything i've seen, the pro model uses a proper pcie network interface, not the usb bridge like the non-pro units. ubiquiti specifically designed that one for rackmount reliability. if you want to be 100% sure before buying, the community foru

The UPS-2U fits precisely back-to-back with the PDU-Pro on the toolless mini rack!

Tech specs say single 176 lbs or 154 lbs with dual/stacking. I have two tooless racks with the stacking mount with (from bottom to top) the UPS 2U (30.9 lb), 1U Brush Panel (8.8 oz), USP PDU Pro (7.6 lb), 1U Blank OCD Panel (8.8 oz), UCI Cable Modem (3.3 lb), UDM-Pro (8.6 lb), USW Aggregation (5.8 l

Yet another UNAS sanity check :)

That was a concern of mine before buying the UNAS Pro. The first is the hardware had been around for a while, so if there were any major issue, you'd think they would have already resolved it. The second is that UI Care is a reasonable price, something like 20% of the cost and gives you 5 years of c
