Modem and router are in the basement of my 3-story home. I have a Google nest mesh system but still have poor connection in some of the upstairs rooms. Any suggestions or recommendations for different mesh system?

Yep, Wi-Fi access from the basement in a 3-floor house is always tricky. Even with a mesh setup like Google Nest, thick floors and walls can really mess up the signal, especially upstairs. The first thing I’d try is moving your mesh nodes around. Place one on the ground floor and one upstairs, ideal

Finally found a solution to a lot of my Google Home issues, I hope this may help others

I had those same problems with my network of TP Link Deco X20 in mesh. The solution was to pass the Nest speakers to the 2.4GHz network and set the default node to which they must be connected.

Mesh Wifi 6 or 7 router recommendation

Hey! The TP-Link Deco M9 Plus and Deco X20 AX1800 are both solid mesh picks. M9 is super reliable, and X20 gives you Wi-Fi 6 and great coverage for 4,000+ sq ft. https://www.grabnpay.in/products/tp-link-deco-x20-ax1800-whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-6-system-with-amazon-alexa-support?variant=47354117357872&_

Deco X20 WiFi mesh

Just FYI: The AX1500 contains 3x Deco X15 (https://www.tp-link.com/us/deco-mesh-wifi/product-family/deco-x15/) while the AX1800 contains 3x Deco X20 (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/deco/deco-x20/). Considering they're the same price, you'd be mad getting the X15 over the X20. As far as T

Tapo L535 and L535B Disconnecting from Home

After trying different things and using ChatGPT, it seems like it’s my router (Deco X20) in combination with Matter enabled devices. It seems to be related to multicast and rebuilding of tables. This causes home hub to not be able to ‘see’ the matter devices and show them as offline (which is why th

Do access points do wifi repeating?

Without APs that support 802.11k/v/r, your client devices might "stick" to a weaker AP when a stronger one is in range, or to a congested AP when a less utilized AP is still within acceptable range. You might experience interruptions when moving from one AP to another. It would be better if you disa

Ecobee 3 will not stay connected to my WiFi

Does this firmware apply to any Deco? I have the Deco X20 and I'm having the exact same issue with my Ecobee 3 lite.

Can I just use a cat 6a ethernet cable to connect a the mesh deco x20 to the main wifi router which uses fiberX

Yep, you're good! You can absolutely use a Cat 6a Ethernet cable to connect your Deco X20 to your main FibreX router, no media converter needed.. That advice only applies if you're dealing directly with the fibre line (like plugging into an ONT). But since you’re connecting the router to the mesh vi

Deco X20

I'm in the same exact situation, virgin 125 package, installed front of house and poor WiFi in the garden. I've just been looking at a set of x10 for now just to save cost wise, can get 3 packs refurb wise on ebay and cex sell second hand ones not bad priced. Not looking so much at x20. But hotukdea

Recommended wired mesh/AP for 700mbps connection

I have a 600mbps plan and i use a deco x50. Could deco x20 do the job, yes in paper. But the protocol (wifi 6) is not the only consideration. For deco x50 it has 2x2 mu-mimo which better handles wireless devices. I have wifi 5 device in theory should handle 600mbps but it reality it only handles 300
