Is this a good deal or a doo doo deal?
Not a recommendation. I just pointed out why the BE550 is cheap and an example of why some people spend more.

Aging router upgrade advice
If you are happy with your single all-in-one, there's no need to go with a mesh system. There's nothing "better" about it, it's usefulness is extending wifi coverage when you can't or won't wire an access point. Here are some suggestions within your budget. Router recommendations for PCVR?
Puppis S1 or AXE75/AXE5400 The BE9300/BE550 is the most futureproof, but also still quite pricey.

Finally FTTH 2.5 gb but now? Mesh system...which one?
This won't work with Deco Mesh. It will work with easymesh. You could buy some TP link BE550, which are great for the price (usually on sale for $170), as they are easymesh compatible. The other option would be to get something like the Decos connected directly to the ONT and not use this router. Al

Suggestions for average gaming and family Netflix
Wi-Fi 7 routers like the TP-Link Archer BE3600 or BE550 are now fairly budget friendly. Last I checked they were around $100. That's going to offer some future-proofing with better multi-device handling than Wi-Fi 6, though most phones/TVs aren't fully Wi-Fi 7 yet. I'd say skip high-end Wi-Fi 7 unle

Extend Range
Maybe the BE550 if you want full features, pretty much, for a cheaper price. Deco's and archers are not compatible by the way.

Terrible Wifi Connection
I’ve got the TP Link BE550 Pro, not too expensive, but it may be overkill for some. Depending on your house setup, you might want to check mesh systems.

Looking for a new router
What about TPLINK BE550 for smaller flats? I was thinking also about BE800, but that can be an overkill and way too pricey.

Help with 2.5gb router setup, lack of wifi 6e - can i use my exisiting TP-link wifi 6e as access point?
Yeah i've heard the wifi is so bad it can't even go through 1 or 2 walls, meanwhile my TP Ax5400 goes through 4-5 very old thick walls just for our ring doorbell lol. I think i'll be picking up the BE550 and giving it a try, I'd have to buy the Asus Axe16000 to do what i want by the sounds and it's

Help with 2.5gb router setup, lack of wifi 6e - can i use my exisiting TP-link wifi 6e as access point?
Yeah it's 1/3 of the asus one i was planning to buy lol. Well the setup is complete, the living room has the old 1gb port TP device, if they want the 2.5gb speed we are planning to purchase another one though but will see what happens when we get the broadband upgrade. Wanted to see how good the BE5
