If you want a nice prebuilt, you could look at Ugreen or TerraMaster. Both are unlocked units and unlike Synology, you can use the OS and drives of your choice. In the 4 bay, I think the Ugreen DXP4800 (N100) for $499 or DXP4800 Plus (Pentium Gold 8505) for $595 is the best bang for buck. There is t

The release time for Terramaster's new products is quite random. Given the general increase in hardware costs, if the F6-424 Max already meets your needs, I think it would be a good choice to go ahead and purchase it.

Terramaster f6-424 max with unraid maybe? About the same price on Amazon, but the terramaster is expandable to 64gb Ddr5, 12 Gen i5, and 10GbE connections. Main downside to me is only 2 nvme SSD slots. Both 6 bays. Installing unraid does seem pretty simple, and last I checked terramaster still honou

I have setup a few docker containers; glances, homarr, scrutiny, beszel , dashdot and doublecommander for qol improvements, but then went to get going with immich and with th

Thanks for sharing. I copied your solution and put the dual M.2 Ngff 2.5" SATA Adapter to the last slot of f6-424 max. It just fits and works perfectly. The CPU idle temperature drops by 10-15 celsius when the RPM value is around 1300 (default is around 1800-2200 and it is super noisy) and I can now

I did consider doing that. But isn't it going to be less efficient or potentially problematic with the OS?Remember that I have no experience with servers. I'm afraid I buy a ugreen pre-built unit to then realize I'm not gonna be able to use HexOS (which is my goal). In any case, I found a new unit f
