Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal?

Buy-it-for-life coffee makers can save money, reduce waste, brew better
Technivorm is one of the few companies still embracing a “repair it, don’t replace it” philosophy, too. Even if you start seeing issues after ~20 years or more, chances are you can get it repaired at a reasonable cost. Given how much coffee I drink, my refurbished Moccamaster has been one of the bes

Any thoughts on the Simply Good coffee maker?
I'm a mod over at moccamaster and I've actually done research on the company and the simply good machines because they're often brought up by people who are interested in less plastic. The simply good coffee company was started by a fantastic woman who realized that not enough people have a coffee m

You All Convinced Me!!
I just found one discarded. It was missing the stainless steel spout thingy so I just got a new one and now I have a working Moccamaster KBT in very good condition. One thing I dislike about the Moccamasters is that there are so many loose and not attached parts. One thing I like, aside from them ma

Why does everything need an app now?
Coffee maker: Technivorm Moccamaster. Mine has two switches. People have been using theirs for decades and they supply replacement parts.

Buy it For Life Coffee Maker
9 years of daily use is solid for any drip machine honestly. the heating element is usually what kills them and if yours is still going strong at that pace thats impressive if youre looking for the actual BIFL move though — technivorm moccamaster. dutch made, hand assembled, copper boiling element h

Used Moccamaster, ok?
I’ve never seen a counterfeit Moccamaster, so that’s unlikely. I’d frankly ask if they would make you a cup of coffee and just test that it works. The upside is they can be shipped to Moccamaster US to be repaired if it has issues. I’ve bought one KBGV and my KM5 grinder new. Picked up a Cup One, a

Ninja vs Moccamaster
I like the Moccamaster's simplicity and commitment to repairability. And I like that the KBT (and KBTS, which is the model I have) uses a thermal carafe instead of a burner. I bought it to replace a crappy super cheap drip machine. Yes, the coffee is better, even the same basic canister of pre-groun

Coffee pots that stand the test of time?
If you want something that actually lasts, Technivorm Moccamaster is one of the few drip machines built to be repaired and used long-term. Otherwise, simpler options like a Chemex or a stainless French press are much more durable since there’s very little that can break. A thermal carafe also helps

Everyday coffee maker recommendations
Happy to help! Again, I have heard that the newer models do not suffer from the same issues (I have a very early Ratio 6 from 2021) and I can say that the coffee is VERY good, so I wouldn't fault you for going with the Ratio. I will also concede that their customer service has been very good in the
