Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
I'll be the first to say the usual answer of Technivorm Moccamaster. Literally only 2 switches, on/off and half/full brew. I really like mine, they're hand made, it's built like a tank and you get a lifelong warranty.

Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal?

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
The Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker. I got tired of buying a new lesser one every year. I’m going on 10 years with mine and it’s still going strong.

Good coffee maker for better coffee at home?
Technivorm Moccamaster, the absolute gold standard for coffee machines and it does go on sale at Amazon regularly; you’ll pay for it but it makes drip coffee that tastes like pour over in a consistent basis and it is very easy and quick. You also want to make sure you are grinding the beans fresh in

What are the best coffee makers worth buying the MOST in 2026?
Technivorm Moccamaster. Simple, brews fast, and is highly repairable. The coffee tastes pretty good too. We’ve only had it for 4 years, but I’ve had other coffee makers die in that amount of time so it’s doing well so far. Keep the grinder separate.

Favorite coffee machine??
Before you buy a coffee machine, buy a good quality burr grinder. Grinding your own fresh beans just before you brew them will make an enormous difference in the quality of your coffee. Coffee begins to lose its flavor within 20 minutes of grinding, so buying pre-ground coffee is really a non-starte

What am I doing wrong that my grounds have two deep holes apparent after brewing?
There are all sorts of techniques out there (stir, pause and let bloom, get a new showerhead, etc. etc.) but I’d suggest forget all of that. The Moccamaster became popular and well liked brewing just as is, following Technivorm’s instructions. As for the divots in your grounds I get that every now a

What’s a household upgrade that was more worth it than expected?
Expensive: Technivorm MoccaMaster drip coffee maker. My wife and I use it every morning to start our day. The coffee brews in the time it takes us to get dressed, makes an incredibly good cup (if coffee is your thing), and allows us to spend time together before waking up the rest of the house. Chea
