Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
I'll be the first to say the usual answer of Technivorm Moccamaster. Literally only 2 switches, on/off and half/full brew. I really like mine, they're hand made, it's built like a tank and you get a lifelong warranty.

Good coffee maker for better coffee at home?
Technivorm Moccamaster, the absolute gold standard for coffee machines and it does go on sale at Amazon regularly; you’ll pay for it but it makes drip coffee that tastes like pour over in a consistent basis and it is very easy and quick. You also want to make sure you are grinding the beans fresh in

Why does everything need an app now?
Coffee maker: Technivorm Moccamaster. Mine has two switches. People have been using theirs for decades and they supply replacement parts.

What am I doing wrong that my grounds have two deep holes apparent after brewing?
There are all sorts of techniques out there (stir, pause and let bloom, get a new showerhead, etc. etc.) but I’d suggest forget all of that. The Moccamaster became popular and well liked brewing just as is, following Technivorm’s instructions. As for the divots in your grounds I get that every now a

Is there an easier way to brew with the Moccamaster?
The Moccamaster is one of the simplest brewers out there. My mother uses pre-ground supermarket coffee in her KBGT and she enjoys it. We grind our own for our KBT. The whole point of weighing the beans is to get repeatable results. You can certainly use scoops but your coffee may vary slightly from

Ninja vs Moccamaster
I like the Moccamaster's simplicity and commitment to repairability. And I like that the KBT (and KBTS, which is the model I have) uses a thermal carafe instead of a burner. I bought it to replace a crappy super cheap drip machine. Yes, the coffee is better, even the same basic canister of pre-groun

New Grinder for my MoccaMaster
I have a Fellow Ode Gen 2 and a Moccamaster KBT, it’s an excellent combo. As far as a scale, I’ve always used a simple kitchen scale and it gets close enough for me. I don’t recommend the upgraded burrs, those are mostly to attempt to get the Ode down to espresso levels, which you don’t need. James

Best drip coffee maker
Consumer reports had Cuisinart DCC-3200 as the top rated model with a 5 (out of 5) on brew performance. And this has Technivorms and Fellows on their list. Those get penalized on ease of use or ease of cleaning, or carafe handling, but also have 5 on their brew performance. I own the Cuisinart and w

Broke a part of my KBG Select
That’s a lot of scale buildup I think I see on the glass tube… good luck with your repair! I’ve gotten into the guts of a KBGV and KBT- they’re super simple machines so as long as you keep good track of your steps it should be dead simple to repair- not rocket science whatsoever. FYI this is my pref
