The KBGV Select can make a delicious single cup (~300 ml) when set to the half-pot switch. But if you’re only ever brewing between 300 and 600 ml, why not look at other machines like the Ratio Four and the Fellow Aiden. My KGBV Select is due next week. I have a Turin df54 and a Kingrinder K6 hand grinder. It will probably take a bag or two of beans to find the right grinder setting. I've heard the Moccamaster can be finicky about grind size.

I went with a KBGV Select specifically because i prefer the glass carafe for ease of cleaning and the select option to brew half pots since me and my wife don't drink more than 6 cups a day. Sucks I bought it 2 days before prime day deals, but I was getting sick and tired of having no coffee machine

I'm pretty sure you could purchase the select switch brew basket and the accompanying arm from moccamaster and replace your stock ones with them. You could then brew better single cups directly into the mug.
