Prime Day KBTS Moccamaster is great

The KBGV is 1” taller and 1.25” longer and has a 40oz glass carafe versus the 32oz stainless steel carafe. The other big difference is the KBGV has a second switch you flip to select a half or a full pot, which changes the temperature of the heating element under the carafe and turns on/off the boil

Is Moccamaster a waste for a single coffee drinker brewing less than half a pot at a time?

Buy the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select. It's optimized to brew a half pot, which is 20 oz.

If you had to recommend one coffee maker in 2026, what would it be?

If I had to pick just one coffee maker right now, I’d recommend the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV Select. It consistently brews clean, balanced coffee with good temperature and flow control, and it’s built to last. Lots of people use it daily because it’s simple, reliable, and makes much better coffee

First day with my nearly new KBGV

My KGBV Select is due next week. I have a Turin df54 and a Kingrinder K6 hand grinder. It will probably take a bag or two of beans to find the right grinder setting. I've heard the Moccamaster can be finicky about grind size.

Is Moccamaster a waste for a single coffee drinker brewing less than half a pot at a time?

Yes, this has been discussed several times before. The KBGV Select is ideal if you want the option of brewing different size batches. OP - See here and here. But there’s also a very strong case to be made for the Fellow Aiden because it comes with two different sized baskets, and the Ratio Four and

KBGV select vs variable drip flow basket for half pot

The general consensus is that it’s hard to make a good half pot on a moccamaster, I have the select and when making a half-pot (with the half-pot switch) I end up with high ratios or relatively fine grinds to make it better. Not an uncommon experience. The half pot setting doesn’t do anything that s

KBGT straight into cup

I'm pretty sure you could purchase the select switch brew basket and the accompanying arm from moccamaster and replace your stock ones with them. You could then brew better single cups directly into the mug.
