Why are NAS systems still a niche thing
The Synology DiskStation DS124 (a home NAS) is at 200 euro.it supports 1 drive, so if that drive fails you are roasted.a 1TB samsung SSD is around 200 euro.so 400 euro with no failsafe. The Synology DS725+ (anjother home nas) is at 550 euro.it takes 2 disks, so one is a failsafe backup of the other.

Hát igen, ez egy épített NAS. Nem tudom pontosan mikor raktad össze, de most kb ennyibe kerülne csak a RAM bele. 😀 Ettől függetlenül amúgy nagyon korrekt kis konfig, teljesítményben nyilván bőven odaver a gyári megoldásoknak. Nekem Synology van, kb 150 körül volt. Papíron a teljesítménye csak a töre

My (DS725+ Synology) NAS. So many things it can do and service and so easily - I could have save years of evenings spending to find out or implement things. (Network storage, backup, DNS /adblocker, Home Assistant server, Domoticz, (Mobile) photo service & sync, etc.
