Synology DS425+ Just a quick friendly reminder that Synology very recently attempted to lock down their ecosystem to "approved" HDDs sold directly through them and reneged only after intense backlash. I have no doubt they will attempt this again.

Thoughts on starting equipment?
Synology DS425+ is not a great choice. You will only be able to use Synology-branded drives. Look into UGREEN, TerraMaster, etc. How do you plan to backup your data? If that single drive breaks, your data is gone.
