Which 4 bay again?

The overall best two Synology models to consider that are 4 bay and decently priced, with good overall options, would be the DS925+ and the DS923+. The DS925+ would rank as better imo because it's newer. Otherwise both have similar specs. For example, the DS925+: CPU: AMD Ryzen V1500B 4-core 2.2 (ba

State of UGreen vs Synology

Hardware: The DS925+ is a "downgrade" to the DS923+. No option for 10GbE anymore. The DS4800 plus/pro has 1x10GbE. While Synology now allows 3rd party HDDs in their x25+ series, I think 3rd party NVMEs are still restricted (cache or pool?), but I could be wrong about this. Ugreens hardware offering

Does UNAS Offer Bitrot Protection?

As an aside to your comment about Synology being "overpriced"... A DS925+ is $640. A UNAS Pro 4 is $500. I'd argue that the Synology brings a hell of a lot to the table for that extra $140 that the UNAS does not. The only thing the UNAS has that the Syno does not is the 10GB ports.

Synology vs alternatives for a first, family-friendly NAS – worth it?

It all depends on what you are wanting to do. While there are a lot of people that have shunned Synology, it is still a solid ecosystem and very reliable/stable. My DS1019 has been running steady since I got it. I'm also considering getting another Synology to keep the ecosystem and demote the 1019

Hilfe ich bin in Vereins-"IT" reingerutscht

What good NAS can I buy?

I've set up NAS boxes for a lot of people over the years, so here's what I'd recommend: If you're on a tight budget (~$300):UGREEN DH4300 Plus. Yeah, it's ARM, but hear me out—I was skeptical too until I deployed like a dozen Docker containers on it. Thing runs surprisingly stable. Way better than t

4800+ vs 923+

I just came from a DS918+ myself to a 4800+! I can compare. I had a 918+ which was getting close to 8 years old and wanted to replace the hardware, but I just upgraded to 4 x 20TB drives a year ago. I was waiting for the DS925+. When that released, and I saw only Synology branded drives were support

STOP : Arretez d'acheter de la ram à ces prix indécents

Je souhaite acheter un synology ds925+ et je suis consterné par le prix de la ram aussi, tout est en rupture de stock et les prix décollent, maman !

im thinking of getting a nas or JBOD how much storage should i get

So would you wanna/need to tinker by building your own nas system (for example unraid) or rather have a ready piece of hardware like a Synology nas? You can start smallish with a 4 bay unit, so still be able to add additional drives as you go along (for synology choose the flexible shr1 raid). And i
