After a year of planning, I own one. Need practice ammo and next accessory?
Your buddy is dumb for laughing at the idea of a light since you’re planning on having this for home defense. You can’t shoot what you can’t see… Streamlight is usually the recommendation as far as quality versus price. They’re reliable and if you shop around/wait a bit you can usually find a Pro Ta

streamlight or surefire
I use streamlight because it works for me. My TLR-1HL has a very good balance of spill and point illumination and is plenty sturdy for my uses. Keep in mind i'm not running in and out of crack houses all day but I feel confident that it would still hold up okay. If nothing else I like the switches b

What’s your favorite light brand and why?
Unfortunately, definitely not streamlight. Every single one, except the tlr-1, tlr7, and protac rail mount 1 has died. AAA micro, micro usb x3 , macro usb x2, tlr6, rail mount 2, pro-tac 2l, pro-tac 1l x2 (still daily one, only works with AA’s now) wedge, pro tac hl-x, poly-tac. All shit the bed soo

Top Flashlight Recommendations Compiled
I have the Streamlight Pro-Tac HLX and I like it, decent flood and very durable overall. The same light is also sold as a rifle light, so it’s kind of known to be tough/shock resistant. Probably not the best all out performance on paper, but it works well

Need a good rifle light
yeh, its mainly just a sorta weak connection with the tailcap and the o-ring helps with that. I have a couple of Streamlight ProTac HL-X's that I've done it to and it works well. And you can get a 10pack of the o-rings at Lowes for like $4 or so.

Streamlight vs Surefire
Streamlight makes excellent pistol lights (TLR-1 variants for full sized and TLR-7 variants for compact) and decent rifle lights (ProTac 2.0 and ProTac HL-X) Surefire makes excellent rifle lights (640 and 340 variants) and decent pistol lights (X300 variants for full sized) Surefire: Made in USA $$$

Wife says it's ugly, rate my gun
I've been thinking about getting the ProTac 2.0 WML, since it's got double the brightness. I edc'd a ProTac HL-X for several years, then got a ProTac 2.0 when it came out, and I use it REGULARLY at my job as a mechanic, and my ProTacs have always just TANKED abuse. I also have an HL5X (2 cell maglit

My Easily Replaceable If It Ends Up In Evidence $1000 Loadout
Yknow what, I respect it. 510C's are nice optics for their price, you should get a lot of mileage out of it. I've got a streamlight HLX on one of my builds, I quite like it. If you wanna upgrade your rifle at all, you could always get an upper from something like Del-Ton. Their price point is pretty
