Definitely notice this, I think on the Sony side there's sometimes a fair bit of sunk cost fallacy (or sponsorships) making them defensive to where they feel the need to nitpick and downplay positives in other systems to justify their decisions (nobody is asking them to do so though). Blind brand lo

I estimate it wouldnât sell. At given Ricoh pricing, they would have to compete with the Sony A7c II and A6700 and some Fujis, the Sonys have way better AF and an arsenal of lenses to choose from. As product managers use to say:âNever listen to enthusiasts if you donât wanna go brokeâ.đ

So long as they knew what they were doing, there wasnât a need for a camera upgrade. Having said that, Sonyâs autofocus is unbeatable. I havenât once had a shot out of focus because it always knows what I want to shoot. My A7C is the only camera Iâve always left in autofocus mode and never worried.

Right, as a fellow Sony 20-70 f/4 owner and M43 shooter, let me share my thoughts⌠I own the Sony A7C (so, a step up from your A7II) along with the 20-70 f/4, plus a few other lenses. I also have an OM-5 paired with the 12-45 f/4 Pro. When I bought the Sony 20-70 f/4, my intention was to replace the

i've used the 17U for a few days, didn't like it. I didn't have the photography kit tho since it was my friend's phone. Your points are fair as well, we just value different things. And yeah, i would love for them to shove the sensor of actual cameras (maybe the one on my a7c ii, just for the memes?

OM-3 and A7cII shooter here. The OM-3 is nowhere near Sony AF.

Sony A7C, Sony 90mm GM, 1/100th shutter, f/4 aperture, ISO 4000. Brightened, boosted some orange (slightly), no other post-processing. Absolutely baffled at how thin the depth of field is at f/4. I switched to f/5.6 after this and still had issues getting a whole butterfly in focus. Going to look at

Use Sony's amazing eye focus. I'm using an A7C. I shoot on AFC, turn on face tracking and both eyes. Shoot at f2 or F2.8 for a bit of latitude on shallow focus.

To be honest Fuji recipes are the same. They are not universal unless you use something like Reggie's Portra which basically looks like modified Provia which is standard color profile in Fujis world. I didn't like Panasonic LUTs at first but after some play with Magic Lut and adjusting it afterwards

Both are great and it's really personal what suits you best. I liked Fuji results with 35 f1.4 and 56 f1.2 lenses, both fantastic but their AF motors are loud and autofocus is not great with those lenses. If you shoot many times under tricky artificial light then mechanical shutter in Fuji is a big
