Just had one of the best listening experiences of my life
HD 490 Pro and HD 660S2 are solid options as well if you don't want to instantly break the bank. Also the new HEDDphone D1 is one the best option under $1000 that has new diaphragm material tech that should offer close to planar-like speed and super wide EQ headroom (as much as I love Sennheisers I'

Best Sennheiser headset for under $1000
HD 490 Pro sounds like a great choice for you indeed. Don't see many other wired and open-back Sennheiser headphones that would be clearly better for you and your use cases. If you can somehow snag a HD 800S used and in good condition under a $1000, that would be the only one that directly comes to

HD 490 PRO or HD 660S2
I came here to say basically this. I think the 490 gives up a tiny bit of detail and a little vocal timbre, but I’ll take that trade for comfort, sound stage for gaming, and versatility any day. Plus, it’s cheaper. 🤷🏼♂️ I did a comparison to the rest of the 6X0s here: https://daemonxar.com/2025/12/20/t

A/550
I'm fine with 350, I'm in the market for a dynamic open back set of headphones and was considering the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro, these seem like a much more exciting option for close to a hundred bucks less. I'll be a day one buyer, gonna trust that Koss got this right and is delivering a product that

If I enjoy the 560s what other sennheiser headphone can elevate my listening sessions ?
The 560S are unusually bright for a Sennheiser, so you might want to try branching out to something else like a Hifiman planar. Honestly, I would consider almost any an improvement over the 560S though, in terms of detail retreival, and mostly in terms of layer and instrument separation. I'd take th

Sennheiser HD560s
The 560s will likely have much less bass than your used too. It has alot of bass for an open back but compared to most closed backs it will have much weaker bass.To increase the bass on the HD 500 series headphones you will need to pick up a pair of Sennheiser "warm tuning" pads for 500 series. And

What is the best sennheiser headphones
Actually the new HD 480 Pro may be better than the HD 490 Pro, even though they're closed-backs. Listener just made a video on them on the Headphone Show channel and said they're his new daily driver. That's just one opinion of course. TL;DR: The FR seems to be very similar to the HDB630 with elevat

question to Spirit mains
Depends how much you want to spend. I use Sennheiser hd490 pro plus. Large sound stage open back, I can hear every survivor movement. Every footstep, breath etc. But a headset and amp is super expensive.

"dont buy a gaming headset, buy quality headphones and a standalone mic" they said?!
Depends on your price range; more often than not these days I'm grabbing the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro for PC gaming. They're incredibly comfortable, well-tuned, and have really good soundstage and imaging for things like footsteps and other audio queues. They're also pretty easy to drive, and don't req

Arya Stealth too fatiguing/uncomfortable.. should I try HD 490 Pro or HD 550?
The 490 isn’t particularly flat with either of the included pads, and is pleasantly v-shaped with the velour ones (the “producer” pads). Cannot recommend them strongly enough; they’re not my favorite headphone but they make my top ten (and are competitively priced these days, and the second most com
