HD 490 PRO or HD 660S2

I actually own both. Short answer: the HD 490 Pro is way more versatile. Comfort is the first big difference. The 490 has larger and deeper cups, lighter clamp, and just more space in general. For long sessions, especially with bigger ears, it’s noticeably easier to live with. Sound-wise, the 660S2

HD 550 or 490 Pro

The HD 490 is a better headphone, and I don't think it's particularly close. Tune, resolution, comfort, staging, etc. (But I also think the HD 490 is probably my favorite overall Sennheiser at this point, and I've never been a big fan of the single-entry 500 series). HD 490 PRO or HD 660S2

I came here to say basically this. I think the 490 gives up a tiny bit of detail and a little vocal timbre, but I’ll take that trade for comfort, sound stage for gaming, and versatility any day. Plus, it’s cheaper. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I did a comparison to the rest of the 6X0s here: https://daemonxar.com/2025/12/20/t

Where do you feel the HD 490 pros fall against the 600 series?

Top of the pops for me: https://daemonxar.com/2025/12/20/the-sennheiser-hd-490-pro-my-new-reference-open-back-a-warning-shot-at-sonova-both/#value-comparisons I very slightly prefer the tuning on the 6XX or 660S2, but between the better soundstage, comfort, and versatility it's a pretty easy call fo

Hd600 OR Hd650

There's an argument that unit variation in the 600 series (600, 6xx, 650, 58x, etc.) can be greater than the difference between the models, but at least the units I've heard have been consistently bassier on the 650 (or 6XX, the North American version of the 650 originally sold by Drop.com). But it'

New user, I dont know what Sennheiser headphones to go for, i game for hours, got a big head and wear glasses unsure on wired or wireless or just ones good for gaming.

If you want guaranteed durability past 3 years, getting a wired set is your best bet. The best overall package from a Sennheiser in that price range is likely to be the HD 490 Pro for many people. The clamp force is light, and the pads have indentations for glasses. You also get two pads to choose f

"dont buy a gaming headset, buy quality headphones and a standalone mic" they said?!

Depends on your price range; more often than not these days I'm grabbing the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro for PC gaming. They're incredibly comfortable, well-tuned, and have really good soundstage and imaging for things like footsteps and other audio queues. They're also pretty easy to drive, and don't req

Headphones for making and mixing

Been down this rabbit hole a month ago, finally settled on Sennheiser HD490 Pro and couldn’t be happier. Beyers were too piercing in the highs for me, Audio Technica too uncomfortable. The HD490 Pro have a superb bass response for open backs, are super comfortable and overall very highly rated frequ

Arya Stealth too fatiguing/uncomfortable.. should I try HD 490 Pro or HD 550?

The 490 isn’t particularly flat with either of the included pads, and is pleasantly v-shaped with the velour ones (the “producer” pads). Cannot recommend them strongly enough; they’re not my favorite headphone but they make my top ten (and are competitively priced these days, and the second most com

MMX 300 Pro vs 1770 Pro Mk2

Also comfort was similar.. so with 1770 i feel like I hear slightly more details. Between different sounds..for example when gun was shooting i could hear very slightly more sound of bullet impact on ground or surface for example.. and this sound was bit more easier separated from rest. But overal h
