"dont buy a gaming headset, buy quality headphones and a standalone mic" they said?!

When they say "Don't buy a gaming headset, buy a quality headphone and a standalone mic" they are typically referring to something wired and passive, such as the Sennheiser HD 550 or the HD 490 Pro. You get much lower latency, and much better sound quality for gaming than the typical choices. Though

Can we finally adress this issue please ?!

I only get the crackle sometimes on the spawn screen. Something is definitely off with the audio. In beta you could pinpoint enemies through sound. Now it's really hard to tell. I use the sennheiser HD 490 pro which are excellent for gaming.

HD 490 PRO or HD 660S2

I actually own both. Short answer: the HD 490 Pro is way more versatile. Comfort is the first big difference. The 490 has larger and deeper cups, lighter clamp, and just more space in general. For long sessions, especially with bigger ears, it’s noticeably easier to live with. Sound-wise, the 660S2

Whats the best headset from logitech?

The best headphones are the ones made by companies for whom audio is their specialty. Go to r/headphones , ask "what's the best gaming headphones for [insert budget]?" You will not get a single recommendation of Logitech or Razer or HyperX or similar. And for a good reason. Some of their products ar

The absolute best headphones for Movies/TV in 2026?

You're not going to get good spatial performance with closed backs, let alone wireless ones. Why not get wired open backs? The best 2 contenders for that category in Sennheiser is the HD 490 Pro and the HD 800S. Also why did you use AI to write this lol? we don't mind spelling or grammar mistakes, a

Just had one of the best listening experiences of my life

HD 490 Pro and HD 660S2 are solid options as well if you don't want to instantly break the bank. Also the new HEDDphone D1 is one the best option under $1000 that has new diaphragm material tech that should offer close to planar-like speed and super wide EQ headroom (as much as I love Sennheisers I'

Best Sennheiser headset for under $1000

HD 490 Pro sounds like a great choice for you indeed. Don't see many other wired and open-back Sennheiser headphones that would be clearly better for you and your use cases. If you can somehow snag a HD 800S used and in good condition under a $1000, that would be the only one that directly comes to

Should I get HD490 PRO or HD660S2 after Audeze Maxwell

My vote is easily for the hd660s2. Own and game/listen to music for way too long everyday, I find myself reaching for the HD 660s2 no matter what. The 490 pros are a stellar can, and proof that Sennheiser can provide the perfect balance of consumer and mainstream in one cans tuning, with a great sou

Are Razer Headsets any good for immersive/story driven games?

I’m so tired of these audiophile dorks commenting on every fucking gaming headset question. I’ve had sennheiser hd 490 pros, beyerdynamic DT 900 pro Xs, sennheiser hd 560s and guess what i still use a gaming headset. Nothing better than a wireless headset with a good mic. The Razer BlackShark v3 has

HD 550 or 490 Pro

The HD 490 is a better headphone, and I don't think it's particularly close. Tune, resolution, comfort, staging, etc. (But I also think the HD 490 is probably my favorite overall Sennheiser at this point, and I've never been a big fan of the single-entry 500 series).
