I bought this brand new Samsung 32” odyssey G51F QHD. Why does it look like dogshit?

I bought the same monitor off Marketplace for $100. It looked brand new. I brought it home, hooked it up and immediately noticed the VA blur. I had a G7 curved VA that never looked this bad. I know they are two different tier monitors from Samsung but I figured by now they’d be using their better VA

Best Monitor for Xbox Series X

There are so many options. And this is a question most individuals only answer once every so many years themselves. So unless someone has bought a monitor recently you’re gonna have to do a bit of research to find what fits your needs. But generally, if I was you I’d look at a 4k 120hz monitor with

Pleasantly surprised by cheap VA monitor

This is the ultimate goal for minled but surprisingly manufactures are too stupid to listen. A miniled VA that doesnt smear is a samsung but they stopped making them. TCL took over but they still dont have the samsung magic. The old Samsung g7 had solved smearing more than 5 years ago but noone else

HDR in DLSS 4.5 Preset M - night and day difference, compared to preset K

Samsung VA is the only real except. My Odyssey G7 1440p 240hz (no miniled) has no black smear. It does have worse VRR flicker than my OLED tho which is weird.

ELI5 the difference between IPS, Mini-LED, OLED, and others.

What is your phone ? Check to see if it is AMOLED/OLED. You can put that next to your monitor and play the same video to see the differences between that and IPS. From my experience going from ips to va to oled: I've owned 4 monitors so far: -27" 4k 60hz IPS, I got it because I wanted to experience

What’s the best 4K 32" (or 27”) mini LED monitor you can actually buy or is coming out soon?

Ok so I've tried it. The main things I don't like are the heavy matte coating that shows up badly during white bright scenes, and the slight black smearing. For some reason, unless HDR is on, I notice the blooming algorithm flicker more. The dimming algorithm is so good with HDR on I wish it were th

How do I make this stop happening?

But still, even in this photo, the blooming is pretty massive. And if you're slightly off-anfle it looks even worse. That is to say, I fully realize that the camera overexposes it a lot more than human eyes would. What also no one but Apple, and to some extent Samsung, can do for some reason, is tun

Upgrade from a Dell S2721DGF

I would stay away from Odysseys without the "Neo" in the name, and from pretty much all G5s. Not really an upgrade from the S2721DGF. I'd pick AOC Q27G3XMN any day over the XV275K. It's also mini LED but with much better contrast and response time (despite being VA). If you're ok with going 4k then

Specifics dark areas on my monitor seem to drag

There's a lot of bad information here. This is a limitation of VA panels, they... On average. SUCK. But there are a few outliers. You will not be able to fix this issue unless you get a different panel type or a VA panel that doesn't have smearing which from my knowledge limits you to the Samsung Ne
