Is this a real Samsung SSD?

Yeah, as stated, Samsung OEM drives unfortunately dont work fully with Magician. This is a Lenovo drive, LEN(ovo) Part Number SSS0L25196, you can search for it. There's a few different part numbers on there. The actual drive is a PM9A1, pretty good one, here: https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/sa

Hard crashes in Win11, stable in stress tests in Linux

Since you've run live OS from usb, that excluded potential problems with Samsung drive - coincidentally I have 2Tb 980 Pro that gave me problems on Windows (hard freezes, not detected in bios until power is disconnected from PSU), and works perfectly fine in laptop and CachyOS.

Uk Gaming PC (£2000-£2500)

I went ahead and created a parts list for you that includes a decent gaming monitor. CPU: The 9800X3D is the second fastest CPU for gaming. As you can see here, at 1440p, it’s less than 1% slower than the top 9850X3D, but it’s about 6% faster than the 7800X3D. CPU COOLER: The Phantom Spirit is a phe

Would you consider this "playable" performance? This is Breach + Beyond + Deli map

turn shader folder into ramdisk mount point of 6gb size (dynamic allocation) using AIM Toolkit and before someone comes saying "only fixes things if u run poe of hdd", i have samsung 980 pro (pcie 4.0 with dram cache) and it does make a ton of difference

AMD AM5 Gaming Build

That 9800X3D is going to absolutely crush 1440p gaming but you might want to consider stepping up the motherboard a bit. The B650E-M is fine but if you're already spending that much in CPU maybe look at X670E board for better VRMs and more features. Also that Patriot SSD is decent value but Samsung

My main homelab server’s 4TB M.2 SSD just died.

HP EX900 Plus is DRAM-less, which is the main culprit here. Without a DRAM cache, every small random write from 200 LXCs hits the NAND directly through the controller's tiny SRAM buffer. With that many containers logging simultaneously, you were basically doing a continuous write amplification stres

First PC Build Advice Request.

Man, that GPU pricing is brutal - $1,124 for a 5070 Ti when they're going for around $750-800 in the States. I'd maybe wait bit and see if import prices drop or consider looking at previous gen cards like a 4070 Ti Super which should handle everything you mentioned. That SSD choice is kinda question

Any advice or anything you'd change?

Dude that Samsung 9100 PRO is complete overkill for gaming, you're dropping £357 on something that'll perform basically the same as a drive costing half that for your use case. PCIe 5.0 is nice to have but games aren't gonna touch those speeds anytime soon I'd swap it for something like a WD SN850X

My first ever pc build in 2026

Nice specs! The 7800X3D is solid choice for gaming, and pairing it with RX 9070 XT should handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Only thing I'd maybe consider is switching the storage - Silicon Power UD90 is decent but for similar price you could get Samsung 980 Pro or WD SN850X which have bet

4:3 240hz build

cpu - 7800x3D gpu - 4070 or 5070. ram - 32gb ddr5 is best if you are gonna be playing other story mode games. try to go for lower cl speed - cl 30 or cl32. ram prices have started to drop, I will suggest you wait more 1-2 months. a good ssd aswell like samsung 980 pro/990 pro for no stutters.
