So long Crucial... thanks for the fishes
Back in early 2023, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB drives were going for under $30. Should’ve bought hundreds.

PCIe 5.0 SSDs are overkill, and manufacturers finally realized most people don't need them
I'm still stuck on PCIe 3 with two Samsung 970 Evo plus. I write stuck, but honestly the SSD speed isn't bottlenecking anything. Maybe if prices where normal, an upgrade would be an option, but there's so little pain using PCIe 3, I'm not even willing to upgrade to PCIe 4

Disk wearout - how buggered am I?
I read that a lot, but my Samsung 970 EVO 1TB still has only 1% wearout, it's running for about 3 years now. Are only cheap drives affected with low TBW?

How much RAM needed to run JellyFin on the DXP 4800 Plus/Pro
I have a complete Arr stack, Jellyfin, qbit, cross-seed, etc. (13 containers in total) running on the stock 8gb that came with my Pro and it’s sitting at 3gb ram used. Absolutely no issues watching Jellyfin content. Definitely get a cheap 256gb NVMe for an applications drive. Nothing fancy since the

Was playing cyberpunk then everything crashed....
That's not normal. I've had a sata Samsung 970 Evo for 6 years and I've been working it to death, constantly writing data on it because I compile stuff a lot and it's still working well and a sata Patriot ssd I don't remember the exact model of that's seen lighter usage, but still works fine after 3

ThinkPad T580 SSD compatibility (SC50Q58222 / 455.0CW02.0001)
No worries. Let me explain clearly. The caddy you have is for M.2 (the type of slot/connector) NVME SSDs (those SSDs logically connect to the computer via a PCIe bus). The Crucial P310 is of that form factor. It looks like a small rectangular board, like a stick of gum. and it usually comes in a 228

SSD upgrade for Xbox Ally.
You may be able to find a deal on older Gen3 NVMes. I still use one in my desktop PC (Samsung 970 Evo). They'll work in the Ally. Although the Ally ships with a Gen4 from the factory, I can't think of a single PC game that will shit its pants if it runs on anything slower than the slowest Gen4. My d

I have a 250 gig 2,5" samsung 850 evo that I've used as an OS drive for over 10 years at this point and it's still in good shape. I also have a 7-year-old 1tb samsung 970 evo plus that is in good shape. the larger the drives the higher they are rated for endurance, e.g the 970 plus 1tb is rated for

ThinkPad T580 SSD compatibility (SC50Q58222 / 455.0CW02.0001)
Return the terrible BX500 and get a reputable M.2 NVMe ssd. Look for Samsungs 970 evo plus, 980, 990 evo plus for example. Sandisk/wd offerings are great too, just dont go with greens. Either Blue or Black series from Sandisk. T580 will run all ssds at up to 1800mbps, but with a bette drive random p
