Jonsbo CB80 - Another dual tower cooler that (just barely) fits in the NR200
Respectfully, in the real world he may only see 1-2% of a performance loss with the gpu with PCIE3. For storage SATA SSDs are arguably more than fast enough for the vast majority of games to where there is pretty much no difference between a NVME or SATA and more than fast enough for anything else o

Anyone still using A1278 in 2026?
Yes, for sure! I daily drive a unibody 2012 13” dual core i5. I have upgraded it to 16GB RAM, 500GB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, and a new battery. Updated to Ventura via OCLP and runs SHOCKINGLY well. Like seriously, it’s still damn fast and good at multitasking with relatively heavy stuff.

I have never been more upset by a number in my life.
I’m running a 1st gen i7-875K overclocked to 4Ghz, 16GB Kingston Fury DDR3 1600MHz CL10, EVGA GTX 980 TI SC, Samsung 870 Evo SSD and I get 7.6. Not too concerned as it’s plenty fast and runs every game from that era on max settings. In your case, maybe try overclocking to get that additional .1 you’

I NEED HELP PLEASE
Wait you are trying to copy windows from your 1tb 870 Evo SSD to a 4tb HDD? This will cause a huge increase in Windows loading times. They are fine for storing files and games etc but if you want windows to load faster you want to keep it on your SSD. When you say slots do you mean physical slots in

HP Omen 30L Hard Drive Failure
kinda common for OEM drives after 4-5 years honestly. i'd replace that HDD with a Samsung 870 Evo SSD - way faster and more reliable. for avoiding future failures, grab an external drive like a WD 4TB and set up File History to back up weekly. you could also check drive health with CrystalDiskInfo e

Is It Worth Upgrading from SATA SSD to NVMe?
Is the m.2 slot an nvme slot? Or or is it sata? You didn't identify the laptop. M.2 nvme would be a better long term investment, but why are you considering sticking with sata? I still use SATA for some things (swap bays for multiboot). They're not that much slower than nvme for most things (like ru

Can you put a SSD in the UNAS? how so given it is meant for a 3.5HDD?
you can absolutely use ssds, just need 2.5 to 3.5 adapters like the sabrent or icy dock ones. they're cheap and screw right into the trays. for drives grab samsung 870 evo or crucial mx500 - both are reliable and have power loss protection which matters for nas. hdds aren't as fragile as you think t
