It's been an expensive 6 months since leaving Kindle

Growing up in school I hated reading. None of the required reading books ever did anything for me, so I rarely actually read them. But that all changed in 2011 when I got a Kindle Keyboard and found out I could read books that I actually liked. It's been wondering and I've been singing the praises o...

Kindle Is Making It Harder to Switch to Rival eReader Brands

I had to google Streisand effect, lol! I don't know how it's related, but in this case Amazon had to give that announcement because if they were tricky about it, people would have been far more upset, and in fact, it is really a change in user agreement. Fortunately for me, my actual kindle purchase...

Smartphone-less set-up at work

PocketBook InkPad Color 3. Colors aren't vibrant, they look like printed on a newspaper, but it allows me to read comics on the go and that's enough for me. It weights more than other ereaders, tho, so it's really unpleasant to have it fall on one's face when reading in bed.

If you are looking for an eReader this Christmas, there is one from Europe - Pocketbook/Vivlio

I bought a PocketBook InkPad Color 3 a year ago and wanted to love it but it's a frustrating device. It is so insanely slow. Navigating menus to do anything other than turn pages in a book made me mad. Especially frustrating because other manufacturers manage to make their eReaders snappy. I switche...

PocketBook releases "new" device: PocketBook Verse Light

I find it much less interesting than the Verse (or the Pro). Besides what was already mentioned by the OP, it only displays 212 dpi and has less features for loading ebooks (lacks, apparently, the PocketBook Cloud, Dropbox, Send-to-PocketBook). Edit: I was wrong, since it does have the cloud and dro...

Kobo Clara BW vs Pocketbook Verse Pro

I did the same. After buying a PocketBook InkPad 4 I enjoy it so much, I bought a Verse Pro Color. Using them with KOReader made it even more enjoyable (after the learning curve). PS. I did my own sleep screens.

My kid asked for color ereader (Boox, Kobo, Pocketbook) ?

As a reader of comics and an ereader collector, a 7” reader is really too small. If you really want to get him a color e-ink device I recommend the Pocketbook InkPad Color 3. It’s 8” and a dedicated ereader so you don’t have to worry about Android apps and distractions. I still think e-ink isn’t qui...

Pocketbook to Kobo, anyone?

I have migrated from Kobo Libra Color to PocketBook InkPad Color 3 and pretty happy with it. I use mostly KOReader on it.

My Kindle is an ad filled wasteland and I regret buying it.

You know that the PocketBook InkPad Color 3 and the Kobo Libra Colour use the exact same screen? The only differences can be how both companies (or when possible: the user) calibrate(s) the colours. If you want a serious comparion, watch this video (possibly start at 2:27): Best Color eReader: Boox,...

Thoughts on Pocketbook Era?

I've been using PocketBook InkPad 3 Color for more than a year. The main complain is the Kaleido 3 screen. Carta 1200 or 1300 are way better. As for other aspects, PocketBook is a great device for reading.
