Advice on this build
Suggestions to get you much better performance, with a better CPU and GPU, plus better cooling and airflow, for the same cost. CPU: Upgraded to a 7800X3D. CPU Cooler: The Dark Rock Pro 5 is not a good cooler for AM5 Ryzen - it heavily underperformed against other dual tower coolers in Hardware Canuc

Review My Build
You’re not going to benefit from more CPU cores then, since Stata SE and R are single-core based. Suggestions below that upgrade the CPU to a 9800X3D, plus some other improvements, for under $2200. CPU: The 9800X3D is the best gaming CPU available, while still having essentially the same single core

First build
You can get more for your money. The CPU/motherboard/RAM bundles at Micro Center are great, but other components are more expensive than online. Are these parts good?
When I originally checked the list, the GPU was $892, which was one of the culprits. Looks like it’s back in stock at the retail $750. The RAM is also expensive - you can get same spec RAM for $130 less. Suggestions below that cut about $100 from your list despite upgrading to a 9800X3D, adding all

Is this overkill?
Those consoles are apparently not on par with the 6700 XT - that is only in terms of processing power, which does not translate to actual gaming performance; they’re apparently worse from a GPU standpoint. However, consoles are optimized for gaming (it’s their only function), and so are optimized fo

Pc parts list, thoughts?
The parts are compatible, but some of the components are expensive for no benefit (biggest offender is the Samsung ssd - it’s much too expensive for a 2TB unit). While the CPU/motherboard/RAM bundles at Micro Center are great deals, other parts tend to be more expensive than from online retailers wh
