New firmwares for S5m2(x), S9 dropped

Debatable They vastly degraded the s5iix image quality with aggressive sharpening and NR post launch (firmware which can't be reversed) and later completely removed streaming functions which were heavily marketed and users specifically paid for with the s5iix over the s5ii Also every other update br

S5ii first lens recommendations?

S5iiX and S1ii longtime user here! Been in this situation hunting lenses, many times, for10 yrs. Short answer if one-and-done: Sigma 20-200 Tried almost all Sigmas and Lumixes, bought every FF L mount focal length from primes to zooms, 14-200mm. M4/3 too. Can't go wrong with any starting out really.

Collecting S lenses like infinity stones!

I’m about a year in myself with Lumix and it seems you can’t go wrong with any of the primes! I personally enjoy my Sigma 24-70ii f2.8 Art Series with my S5ii for both photo and film. But I recently went out with just the S50mm and remembered how high above their weight these lenses really punch. Es

LUMIX rejection on luxe weddings

I've mixed my Lumix S5ii vlog and my second's Sony A7iv slog3 with the same conversation LUT for several years now and literally nobody can tell the difference. Look at my posts and see if there are any giveaways.

Is Lumix better for video than photography?

It's very good for photography with a few caveats. This is based on my experience with the S5ii, latest firmware. AFC + TTL flash performance is still not on par with major brands, Sony, Nikon and Canon. There is a delay. It's good enough that many users don't care or don't notice but if you are com

Which Lumix full-frame camera do you recommend for wedding photography?

Upgrade G9 to G9ii (much better in every way from sensor to AF) and keep PL 12-60 f/2.8-4 (add PL 50-200 f/2.8-4 and if need further reach 100-400ii f/4-6.3, both work well with 1.4x teleconverters) and get an S5ii with 24-60 f/2.8 and 35-150 f/2-2.8 and be done. Use each system to their strengths,

Old Sony Users Who Switched To Panasonic; Any Regrets?

No regret. Back then switched from Sony A6400 + A7R3 to Lumix GX-9, G9 and S5. The 3 Lumix I used only has CDAF but it's fine for my usage with 90% stills 10% casual video. I feel Lumix body with AWB often give more accurate colors. The raw file (.RW2) can be processed in Lightroom (iOS/Android) for

Lumix s5m2 high res mode vs canon r5m2 45mp

Dynamic range and noise is better on the LUMIX S5ii. The Canon R5ii is three times the price though… 🫣

Which full-frame should I buy? Nikon Z6 III, Panasonic Lumix DC-S5IIX, Canon EOS R6 Mark II, and Sony Alpha 7 IV.I often shoot portraits (fast AF, great bokeh), travel (compact, versatile lenses), and groups (good sharpness, dynamic range).

Well it's good you mentioned affordable lenses because that cuts out Canon. The Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is a great fast lens that's well priced and light. Should help keep the price down from getting zooms and primes. They're for Sony or Nikon. Lumix have the kit lens 20-60mm and the new 24-60mm F2.8
