Why is it that nobody ever mentions any camera but olympus?
Few factors : - Lumix has always been a bit of a video-centric brand, ever since the GH1 released. Most of why peop[le bought Lumix cameras for was very often the excellent video specs compared to the price point, and not really their photo capabilities (which are still good) - Olympus has a HUGE ba

Q: You can ask LUMIX to create just ONE new lens… What lens would you ask for??? Drop your wish below…
Does not work reliably on Olympus/OM System. Does not work with AFC. Unusable for video with af.

So, does this mean an MFT lens lineup revival?
Idk what camera you are using but my om-3 autofocus is a lot better than my Lumix s5ii and about 80% as good as my canon r8

Seeking lense advice
The Sony Alpha 7 IV is a full frame camera. That means it’s bigger and heavier than APSC and micro 4/3 cameras. Do you plan to take macro insect pictures of live insects in the field or are you planning to work in studio with preserved specimens? I ask that because I personally would not enjoy macro

Should I get an OM3 or x100vi or…?
I sold my x100vi not long after I picked up the OM-3. It’s a much better camera in almost any way. Yes, larger, but it’s still very compact with some lenses. Video is much, much better on THE OM-3! The focus difference is night and day too!

OM System Now Majority Owned By Former Olympus Camera Division Lead
The big one is that the Continuous AF with Tracking is nowhere near as good as Nikon 3D Tracking, and you can't set it to "any subject detect" like the Nikons. Then other things like you can't re-center the focus point by long-pressing "OK" unless you have moved it recently and it is active. Punch-i

Help me save money?
As a new photographer, what are you going to be doing that needs the features of these cameras that cannot done by an older cheaper camera? This is a serious question you need to ask yourself, and then look back on the older models and see how far back you can go an still meet your requirements. If

Photographed racers at a downhill mountain biking course in Monterey the other day. Love the subject detection speed of the OM1ii. I particularly like how the dirt kicked up in the background contributes to some good subject/BG separation by adding some nice contrast. It also gives a feeling of how

PetaPixel and Emily from Micro Four Nerds on how to save Micro Four Thirds - the manufacturers only make large premium cameras and are afraid to make a small one that isn't plastic and chintzy
They see the money in Om3s, GH and back in the day, Pen-Fs. They dont see the money coming in from the Pen Lites and Pen Minis and GF sadly. To be fair, the market saw that segment slowly petering off in the last decade - but its not dead. If OM systems/ Panasonic can Make their mobile apps actually

APS-C for macro?
I'll start this off by clarifying I only have experience with Sony & Olympus / OM systems. I've tried to use the Sony A6700 and the Sony 90mm for handheld insect macro photography and eventually gave up. The sensor readout time and buffer were too slow for my style of photography. I ended up going w
