Will Nikon ever make a Coolpix A successor?

Make the same camera but put the z50 ii sensor and processor in it and it would be incredible

Is Nikon Z50 II better than Canon R50 bundle for a beginner?

I can't speak for the Canon; I shoot full frame Z bodies, 80-90% corporate/industrial video and some corporate stills/product shoots. The little Z50ii is my little gimbal monster though - it punches way above its weight/price. Nikon simply didn't cripple the thing in any meaningful way. It lacks in-

Z50II vs Z5II

I moved from Z50 II to Z5 II. I value IBIS more. My other cameras have IBIS and I couldn't go back to a body without IBIS. As for the size, with 40mm, 28mm and 75mm primes the Z5 II isn't that big of a camera. AF performance is a wash between two. Lens selection for Z DX is pretty small and no prime

Trading in a Z50ii for a Z5 in 2026?

The used market on Nikons are extremely soft right now. The z5ii can be had for $1200-1300 at the moment. Look for people selling them in photomarket or Fred Miranda. I would say you’d be taking a huge step back from the z50ii to the z5. Autofocus is way behind. The only thing you’ll be gaining is t

Z50ii vs Z5ii

No, in normal shooting cases in good lighting with people who know how to use the cameras, you won't be able to know which shots are from either sensor without looking for clues, like resolution, EXIF data etc. Some here will violently disagree with that statement and some "professionals" will tell

Nikon D500 vs Nikon Z50 II for wildlife photography?

Own both here. D500 = tank with one of Nikon’s best DSLR AF systems. Z50II = little powerhouse with Nikon’s best mirrorless AF system but less horsepower behind it. Used properly the D500 is still almost a decade later a comparison point against which most wildlife photographers test other cameras.

Z30 to Z50ii big enough upgrade?

it has the same exact sensor. It doesn't have the same sensor. Although Nikon introduced a 20.9MP sensor in 2017 with the D500, it's undergone two major upgrades since then: the first to the Z30/Z50/Zfc's sensor to add phase detect autofocus and improve readout speed, and again for the Z50II to give

Recommendations for upgrading to mirrorless

Based on your must haves I would suggest either the Z50ii or the Z6III. The Z50ii has an aps-c sensor, so you'll be able to get closer to your subject without losing much image quality on the crop, but the downside is that Nikon's lens offerings for crop sensor cameras are quite limited. The Z6III h

For plane photography would getting a Nikon Z6 III be better or Nikon Z7 II

Z50 II is the sensible option without spending a heap more for the Z6 III and equivalent zoom lens. At that point you are spending so much more you might as well get a Z8 second hand or repack / refurb. Z7 II better for high dynamic range with big resolution, like slow portraiture, architecture, slo

Looking to upgrade.

Nikon Z50 II and with an FTZ ... Nikkor 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6, Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5-6.3, Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8G, Tokina 10-20 mm f/2.8G I mean, you can do that, but I wouldn't. Simply put, the new 16-50, 18-140, 50-250, and all wide angle options put the older F-mount lenses to shame. An FTZ is an expe
