Nikon Z50 II - lens choice
I would get the Z50 II with both kit lenses. Both lenses are very sharp, lightweight, and excellent value, especially when purchased as part of the kit. On NikonUSA.com, adding the 50–250mm to the 16–50mm kit is only about $250 more than buying the body with just the 16–50mm. It's well worth the ext

Talk me out of a potential mistake.........
The best camera is the one you have with you or will bring with you. So I don’t blame you there. Personally, I’ve been using Nikon for 15+ years. I’ll stick with it. I have a D800 and a Z50ii and am looking to add a Z8 to replace the D800. I feel a Z8 and Z50ii will cover my needs. The ultra compact

Say nice things about z50ii
This camera has a built-in pop-up flash, which is its biggest advantage in my opinion. Z50 II is also much smaller than a full-frame camera, so you can easily fit it into a small bag. It also supports Nikon Imaging Cloud.

Gear struggle…
I am a little confused. What is your biggest concern: weight or the lack of affordable lens choices? If it's weight, I'd pick up a Z50 II with the two kit lenses for those times when you want to travel light. Since it has the same Expeed 7 processor as your Z6 III, I think it's a much better choice

Z50ii
Was very happy with my z50 ii. Liked it more than my old d500 due to smaller size and af tracking—image quality was slightly better but possibly due to the more accurate focus. Either something is wrong with your z50 ii or there’s a bit of user error with the new mirrorless system. I had a d90, d700

Is Ricoh GR just better?
GRs are super portable, so you are inclined to take it to more places, take more photos and create more chances to take good picture. However, these are niche cameras with dogshit video quality, fairly slow fixed prime lens and mediocre at best autofocus - old Nikon D750 blows it out of the water an

Is a secondhand Nikon Z50 good for fashion/ street photography?
It's an excellent camera, particularly in view of the small size, so it looks discrete and is easy to carry. However it does have limitations, the main one being poor subject detect AF (all of that generation of Nikons do), so if you wanted the camera to do the heavy lifting (focussing on eyes etc)

Nikon D500 vs Nikon Z50 II for wildlife photography?
Own both here. D500 = tank with one of Nikon’s best DSLR AF systems. Z50II = little powerhouse with Nikon’s best mirrorless AF system but less horsepower behind it. Used properly the D500 is still almost a decade later a comparison point against which most wildlife photographers test other cameras.

Used D7500 or save up for a Z50 as a first real camera
A D7500 won’t feel outdated. It’ll feel familiar and get you decent results. Also, are you talking about the Z50 or the Z50II? The former is not as good as the II, both will have worse battery life than the D7500 (and your D3200). With the Z you get a lighter camera and better autofocus but with wha

Is Z50ii a decent camera in 2026? Or should I get something better?
Comments on your wide range of topics here: ZR: Great for video. It's still photos shooting has big compromises: No viewfinder. No grip. Control placements are more designed for video, and less for instant control operation by feel while shooting. ZR: It's various raw formats create gigantic video f
