Which older DSLR would be a good back up camera.
D850 is the king of Nikon DSLR. But why bother? Unless you are intending to have a bunch of F lenses, just get another Z body. If you want small, get a z6 or zf. Or even a zfc if you are considering crop sensor bodies.

Recomendation for beginners
Okay, so a couple of things That is absolutely the right camera to start learning photography - good job. Until the Z50II came out I always recommended the ZFc but for various reasons the Z50II is now the better choice Don't buy new. See if Nikon has that exact gear available refurbished at a discou

Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick?
Sir, those aren't point and shoot cameras. Personally I have the Nikon zfc, light and reliable camera great for carrying aroun. It's sensor is an aps-c, so lenses are cheaper and the quality is great for socials or not-very-large prints. Also I use cheaper lenses (mostly Viltrox). Most point and sho

The first camera you really liked to use.
First digital camera I really LOVED taking everywhere with me is Nikon Zfc.Every other I had were great cameras, but there were always times when it was too big, or heavy, or "I'll leave it and take it later"... BUt Zfc, is ALWAYS by my side, or around my neck or in backpack...

Why are so many APS-C fans on this sub?
Okay M4/3 colleagues, no reason to act all pissy because people make other camera format suggestions. This is a hobby, not a life and death situation and there’s a myriad of reasons people use what they use. I have a nice M4/3 system if a G9, Oly pro lenses and some primes. Love the size and picture

Debating whether to stay with MFT
Personally I like the gripless design and the aesthetic of the EM5/OM5 series with silver top. The EM1 does raise the question of why not move to a bigger sensor system. Nikon Z Fc doesn't have IBIS. Nikon Z F looks great to me, but it's a question of price really. Camerasize dot com is a good way t

Got the Z8. Mistake?
If size if your concern, good thing you didn’t get the Z9. The Z8 is wayyy smaller version of Z9 in comparison and should be fine for street and most other photography. Not sure what Leica you were shooting on before. The Z6iii is a bit smaller, better in low light has a slightly better battery life

Planning to switch to OM3
I recently had a similar thought as I'm getting older and am traveling more and would like some lighter gear. I have a Nikon Z8, 20mm f/1.8 S, 28mm f/2.8 SE, 40mm f/2 SE, 24-70 f/4 S, 85mm f/1.8 S, 105mm f/2.8 macro & Tamron 150-500mm f5-6.7. I had the Nikkor Z 180-600mm but sold it in favor of the

Nikon ZFC with 50mm lens
I like my Zfc, but damn, the lenses Nikon is making are too big for these small bodies. I use a 27mm TT Artisans AF lens, and it's small, and it cost me maybe $120.

First Camera at 37!
That 16-50 mm lens is very good for most subjects. My recommendation is to shoot at least 1,000 frames and look at those images then decide if there were any limitations or problems. Only after you can identify a problem, then buy a lens that addresses a real problem. The most common beginner mistak
