Recomendation for beginners

Okay, so a couple of things That is absolutely the right camera to start learning photography - good job. Until the Z50II came out I always recommended the ZFc but for various reasons the Z50II is now the better choice Don't buy new. See if Nikon has that exact gear available refurbished at a discou

Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick?

Sir, those aren't point and shoot cameras. Personally I have the Nikon zfc, light and reliable camera great for carrying aroun. It's sensor is an aps-c, so lenses are cheaper and the quality is great for socials or not-very-large prints. Also I use cheaper lenses (mostly Viltrox). Most point and sho

Why does the Fujifilm community feel so "alive" and where can I find this vibe with Nikon?

Because Fuji had to spin their lack of image quality and hipsters swallowed it hook, line, and sinker? You can pump the ISO and saturation sliders on any Nikon and get the same lack of dynamic range, grain, and retinal color assault that Fuji lovers enjoy. Ken Rockwell fucking loves his Nikon camera

Like /r/fujifilm

Yeah if you sort both subs by New and follow them for a while it does seem like there are more images and less chatter on Fujifilm. Probably several thi gs going on. Nikon historically has been more widely known and has made a lot more cameras than Fujifilm. A lot of gear questions in this sub are a

Anyone switched from fuji to Nikon zf and regretted it ?

I switched from Nikon mirrored to Fuji. I was in the same boat, looking at the Zf and Zfc for a nice retro manual digital camera. I loved my FF camera and the depth of field it has (I have take many great photos with it.). I liked the Zf more than the Zfc, but neither truly offered that manual camer

Debating whether to stay with MFT

Personally I like the gripless design and the aesthetic of the EM5/OM5 series with silver top. The EM1 does raise the question of why not move to a bigger sensor system. Nikon Z Fc doesn't have IBIS. Nikon Z F looks great to me, but it's a question of price really. Camerasize dot com is a good way t

Got the Z8. Mistake?

If size if your concern, good thing you didn’t get the Z9. The Z8 is wayyy smaller version of Z9 in comparison and should be fine for street and most other photography. Not sure what Leica you were shooting on before. The Z6iii is a bit smaller, better in low light has a slightly better battery life

GR IV or GR IV HDF for school shootings?

Get yourself the Nikon Zfc with the 16-50mm kit lens. The GRIV is a fixed lens camera and 28mm won’t be enough reach for school events. You want to have some versatility, and not be locked into a wide focal length. Especially in a photography club where you’re probably going to be shooting a variety

Just upgraded my Z50 to a Z50II.

I sold my Z50 and Zfc, bought the Z50II body as soon as it was available. The amount of customization is worth the upgrade by itself, let alone EXPEED7 improvement. I have mine set up virtually identical to my Z8. I wish Nikon had an f/4 16-80 zoom.
