Which older DSLR would be a good back up camera.

D850 is the king of Nikon DSLR. But why bother? Unless you are intending to have a bunch of F lenses, just get another Z body. If you want small, get a z6 or zf. Or even a zfc if you are considering crop sensor bodies.

Recomendation for beginners

Okay, so a couple of things That is absolutely the right camera to start learning photography - good job. Until the Z50II came out I always recommended the ZFc but for various reasons the Z50II is now the better choice Don't buy new. See if Nikon has that exact gear available refurbished at a discou

Just curious why they picked the d3s for Man of Steel. Just after a bit of back ground was it considered a great camera back then. Lana used it to capture superman?

For the Netflix mini series The Residence, detective Cordelia Cupp uses a Nikon Z fc with the 16-50mm kit lens for birding. I’m willing to bet they just liked the aesthetics of the Z fc and didn’t bother to look into what lens would be appropriate to spot birds from 100 yards out.

Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick?

Sir, those aren't point and shoot cameras. Personally I have the Nikon zfc, light and reliable camera great for carrying aroun. It's sensor is an aps-c, so lenses are cheaper and the quality is great for socials or not-very-large prints. Also I use cheaper lenses (mostly Viltrox). Most point and sho

Long overdue upgrade from Sony NEX 5r straight to Nikon Z50II: WOW

Nikon hasn't disclosed if the D7500 or Z50II have FSI or BSI sensors, the only thing we do know is that they use the same photosites as they test identically giving you the same output, and aside from the PDAF photosites and some modest speed improvements handle identically. For all photographic pur

Talk me out of a Z7.

So I come from a unique perspective, where I did the same thing 5 years ago, except I went from an E-m1II + E-M1X to a Z9 and Z6. Had all the 1.2 Pro lenses too, like it was balls-deep-peak-Olympus. What I learned, was no matter what you get in Nikon-land, it’s going to be better than an E-M1II, whi

Z30 to Z50ii big enough upgrade?

it has the same exact sensor. It doesn't have the same sensor. Although Nikon introduced a 20.9MP sensor in 2017 with the D500, it's undergone two major upgrades since then: the first to the Z30/Z50/Zfc's sensor to add phase detect autofocus and improve readout speed, and again for the Z50II to give

I'm tired of the hate about the Viltrox lawsuit

According to a direct translation of the case: "Case Type: Dispute over royalties for the provisional protection period of an invention patent" Considering Viltrox is a lens manufacturer and Nikon is a camera manufacturer, it is extremely reasonable to surmise that this is about the Z mount. I agree

Digital camera that’s decent for scanning AND for casual street/ landscape photography?

Nikon Zfc might be a good choice, it still has retro camera style but when paired with a macro lens it's great for film scanning.
