Please Nikon make a Z7 III

There’s too much overlap with the Z8 for this to happen - the Z8 is only 1/3 of a stop worse at ISO 64 than the Z7ii, but has a much larger potential market as it is also much faster (making it good for sports, birds, etc.) and will do video better than a hypothetical Z7iii. The only real likelihood

So Long to the Z7 Platform?

I’m an avid Z7ii user (was my first mirrorless Nikon after 9 successful years with the D610), and I’d love for them to have a successor but I really can’t really think of where it would fit in the current lineup. The Z8 is a phenomenal camera, but even now I prefer the slightly smaller and lighter Z

I always tought my Z6ii was enough..until i brought my Zf to the Track!

I shot a wedding with a Z7ii as my second body once. I've had a Z30 as a second/pocket body for other event types, but I wanted a second 45mp sensor, so I borrowed one. My. God. Two thoughts after that experience: What an amazing landscape camera. WEDDINGS ARE NOT LANDSCAPES Expeed7 is like 4 genera

Z5II or Z7II

It strongly depends on your autofocus needs. Since you didn't mention stuff like wildlife, sports, racing or other fast paced situations, the Z7II will probably be better due to the higher MP count. If you think about starting some wildlife or sports, get the Z5II. It has the newer processor, so the

Finally making the switch! DSLR ---> Mirrorless

Z5ii unless you’re planning to do lots of video, in which case Z6iii. Z5ii and Z6iii have the newer EXPEED 7 processor and have much better autofocus as a result than Z6ii or Z7ii. Z5ii has more dynamic range than Z6iii under ISO 800 (they’re about the same above ISO 800). Z6iii is much more capable

Switching to Nikon, pitfalls

Z8 has slightly worse dynamic range than a D850. This will be noticable in how much you can pull from shadows in post processing. You can compensate for it by avoiding ISO 100-500, by exposure bracketing or by overexposing images. In most circumstances, you won’t notice it at all. Z7ii does better i

Z8 45MP sensor is a game changer

Couldnt agree more, when I went from a 24mp to the Z7ii. you can crop to oblivion with the right glass. What lens did you use on this photo?

Shots from my 2025 thruhike

Thanks! I carried a Nikon Z7II with the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens for the Z Mount. Honestly, I think a longer lens (maybe the 24-120 f/4) would have been a lot more versatile on trail, but definitely not as good for astro/nightscapes. If I did it again and could stomach the extra weight, I might do t

Please Nikon make a Z7 III

The Z7 or Z7ii are still a leading class landscape camera. If landscapes are your thing, pick up a used Z7 on Marketplace for cheap. The only disadvantage to the original Z7 has to do with its slower AF and tracking algorithms. You don't need lightning quick AF for landscapes. That being said, how o

Please Nikon make a Z7 III

Fwiw, I have the Z7 II and the Z8. I don't notice the difference really in real world. And when you use the DPReview DR tool and adjust for 6 stops of recovery, the Z8 images look just fine against the A7V, Z7 II and A7R V. https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr144_0=nikon_z
