Some other cool options at 3-4L are: •Lenovo Thinkstation P360 Ultra or P3 ultra •HP Z2 Mini G9 worktation But again, the same rule applies here: only if you can find them second hand or refurbished (for a reasonable price). Because new ones are always ridiculously expensive. If you don't need a nam

Minisforum MS-A2 has 2xSFP+ & the MS-02 Ultra has 2xSFP28 SFP+! They also have a single slot half height PCI slot. The MS-02 Ultra definitely fits your bill as it has 4 or 5 nvme slots? 2 are built into the SFP28 adapter.

I think it's the only model on market in M.2 format. Price is normal for any 10Gb card right now. As a note MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max and MS-02 ULTRA have build in 2x ports using this chipset, but it's not an M.2 module. Works fine in Windows and Linux kernel 6.17 and higher.

MiniPC may only have 1 oculink port so you may be able to use this port for an external GPU enclosure. There are also MiniPC with thunderbolt port so you can use an external GPU enclosure that support thunderbolt as well. I am not sure but there may be some supporting both oculink and thunderbolt -

Did you look at the MS-02 hardware diagram and the detailed processor/chipset specification? There are not enough pcie lanes on neither the processor nor chipset available. Neither for an x8 nor for a full x16 slot. The first 4 lanes come from the processor and the following two x4 groups from the c

Mac if you also want to include LLM else you could either look at building one or MinisForum MS-02 ultra and slapping in a single slot Nvidia GPU. If you consider building one then you could look at building an intel based system for your use case using intel core ultra series. You could look at itx

You’re absolutely right about the RAM situation. I’ve been following the prices closely because I’m also considering the MS-02, and the spike this month has been brutal. I’m using the same Crucial 96GB kit in my MS-01, and seeing it literally double in price just as Minisforum announced their own pr

sure, given the extension opportunities via pcie as well as the 4x sodimm DDR5 slots, this is very cool, i.e. you could load it with 128GB++ ram and an sff/low-profile gpu (some RTX Ada and Blackwell gpus have a 4w idle). So you can have there a very powerful (though almost) desktop equivalent for <

How has it been going with the MS-02 Ultra? Between picking up the 235hx version or getting a 1L form factor with 15-14500t. Would be about $150-$200 extra for the minisforum, but seems to have a lot of growing room if needed. Currently run jellyfin with 2-3 active users for media, arr stack, next c

Minisforum is a company based in a land that doesn't believe in fixing things. They release, they recoup, the make semi new, the release, recoup, etc etc etc. I love my MS-02 Ultra, but it needs work I can never give it and that Minisforum would never approve.
