Some other cool options at 3-4L are: •Lenovo Thinkstation P360 Ultra or P3 ultra •HP Z2 Mini G9 worktation But again, the same rule applies here: only if you can find them second hand or refurbished (for a reasonable price). Because new ones are always ridiculously expensive. If you don't need a nam

Minisforum MS-A2 has 2xSFP+ & the MS-02 Ultra has 2xSFP28 SFP+! They also have a single slot half height PCI slot. The MS-02 Ultra definitely fits your bill as it has 4 or 5 nvme slots? 2 are built into the SFP28 adapter.

There are GPUs like the RTX 4000 Blackwell, which even has 24 GB of VRAM. The question for me is more like how well other cards with the same form factor fit into the case. Minisforum now somehow has the bad habit of selling any PCI cards instead of really selling pure barebones. My MS-02 Ultra has

I think it's the only model on market in M.2 format. Price is normal for any 10Gb card right now. As a note MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max and MS-02 ULTRA have build in 2x ports using this chipset, but it's not an M.2 module. Works fine in Windows and Linux kernel 6.17 and higher.

Thank you very much for your time and effort with this comprehensive review. I was looking at these idle power draws and report 35.9w (and 55.4w with the 25gbe nics): https://nascompares.com/2025/12/29/minisforum-ms-02-ultra-pc-review/#Minisforum_MS-02_Ultra_Review_-_Speed_Noise_Heat_and_Power_Tests While win

MiniPC may only have 1 oculink port so you may be able to use this port for an external GPU enclosure. There are also MiniPC with thunderbolt port so you can use an external GPU enclosure that support thunderbolt as well. I am not sure but there may be some supporting both oculink and thunderbolt -

I was considering the MS-02 Ultra and in fact obtained 64GB of DDR5 Sodimm already but hold on to the idea after I saw a few posts about Minisforum quality control issues.

Did you look at the MS-02 hardware diagram and the detailed processor/chipset specification? There are not enough pcie lanes on neither the processor nor chipset available. Neither for an x8 nor for a full x16 slot. The first 4 lanes come from the processor and the following two x4 groups from the c

Mac if you also want to include LLM else you could either look at building one or MinisForum MS-02 ultra and slapping in a single slot Nvidia GPU. If you consider building one then you could look at building an intel based system for your use case using intel core ultra series. You could look at itx

It looks like the 02 Ultra is based on the MS-01 motherboard with some mods that are not yet known. IIRC it has a similar arrangement on the underside of the motherboard, like it can take a U.2 NVME drive, but still 7mm only? I have some spare 15mm drives I can't use in the MS-01.
