I recently got my Minisforum UM790 ProAND I LOVE IT! It's super fast, it's so small and SO powerful. I run some games on it, nothing too fancy. things like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk. No glitches what so ever. To me it's astonishing to see how these things evolved. I started with 33Mhz and

Best pick under $600: → MINISFORUM UM790 Pro Mini PC Why: Very strong CPU (great for music production). One of the best integrated GPUs for gaming. Best performance for the price. If cheaper: GMKtec NucBox M5 Ultra Mini PC → budget option. GEEKOM A6 Mini PC → reliable brand. Super short recommendati

Here's my personal perspective. Seen too many UM790 Pro mPCs on the diagnostics bench in front of me to be an advocate, notably as a long-term investment. It's a much older platform, with little to no innovation or improvements. The AI-X1 on the other hand, after seeing my first one for the first ti

User-facing vs. background was the boundary I adopted for the two servers. Yes, the 'hub' is a server. User-Facing (Hub): Services and applications that we regularly interact with - from wiki to LLM services to various databases to calendar and contacts. The daily stuff. Background (Support): Servic

Frow what I could find on the Internet, the 780M (the igpu) is comparable to a 2040- 2090 wich is even today enough to play in medium setting 99% of games. And yeah I'm really happy. I was looking at mininocs like that for a year now, I had multiple choices and this one was the one who stood up the

I had the Minisforum UM790 Pro and it was a very quick little device. I ran Linux on mine and it was great. I eventually sold it and got a Mac Mini, which has also been great. It's amazing how much computer they can pack into a little box these days. I don't have any personal experience with GMTek b

I'm going to replace my old laptop and am also thinking about buying a miniPC. I like the UM790 Pro option, but personally, I will probably take the Minisforum AI X1 PRO. It contains a newer CPU with a better iGPU and NPU, which should perform better for AI tasks. Another option is Framework desktop

I used to do some music production and I'm looking to get back into it. It's been a long time since I've done any recording. I'm ALSO looking into what PC specs I'll need to to smoothly run a DAW and create both VST instruments as well as recorded instruments and processing and editing. I think your

The MINISFORUM um790 Pro has solid hardware and can handle lightweight game servers once you add decent RAM and an SSD. The main drawback with home hosting is that you will run into bandwidth limits, uptime issues, and possible DDoS problems. If you want something more reliable, it is worth looking

Thanks for sharing! That SER8 sounds like a great quality-of-life jump—32 GB + 1 TB and a tidy desk is exactly what I'm after. I'm collecting all suggestions and, after digging, the UM790 Pro seems to fit my workload really well (Photoshop + tons of tabs), though I've also heard Minisforum support c
