I anticipating this will happens more and more but not expecting to be 1x32GB at this moment. Minisforum already done this on some of their slightly more budget oriented models since about a year ago, they put single stick of 16GB RAM on 16GB SKU back then. With current RAM price rocketing, I was si

I bought a minisforum UM790 Pro exactly a year ago and it only lasted 3 months. Overnight it stopped working and I couldn't get it to work again and the minisforum support was really crap and they didn't make my warranty valid because here in Mexico they don't have support; So $13,000 Mexican pesos

The MINISFORUM um790 Pro has solid hardware and can handle lightweight game servers once you add decent RAM and an SSD. The main drawback with home hosting is that you will run into bandwidth limits, uptime issues, and possible DDoS problems. If you want something more reliable, it is worth looking

That's the only thing, being 2 years old. Meigao/Minisforum are on their second replacement. After having problems with the UM780/UM790 Venus series, they moved on to their slightly revised UM Plus/Slim generation, which is being phased out for AI X1 as they finish 2025. From a PC repair perspective

"I had the UM790 for a short period. I encountered an issue with the Wi-Fi constantly losing its connection. Apart from that, it was a great, fast, and good-looking mini PC. After that, I bought a Minisforum HX99G. My Wi-Fi was a bit better but still had issues. My NVMe SSD and RAM were overheating

Damn that mini PC with 128GB RAM sounds nuts! I had a Minisforum UM790 Pro with 64GB of memory. I ran Kubuntu on it and it was rock solid. Great little device. I eventually sold it and got an M4 Mac Mini, which has also been great, but I do miss my little Linux box sometimes.

In recent years Minisforum hasn't been known for build quality and customer service. When I had the newer UM870 Slim I didn't find it as impressive as more popular brands. The UM790 Pro is an older mini design missing a lot of features. I ended up with the GMKtec K8 Plus with more options and better

Interesting. Different from what I was given. Anyway, it was a lot easier facilitating the return through Amazon. Corresponding with China at all odd hours was getting exhausting. From my own personal experience and my partner's experience, the mini PCs don't have the longevity that the standard tow

I have had that MinisForum Venus UM790 Pro for more than a year now and I've been very happy with it. The first one arrived with faulty USB ports but the second one hasn't had any problems.
