Surface (Pro) 12in: Where have you been all my life?

This is the feedback I'm interested in. This obviously is a spec downgrade from the 11, but the size makes it a competitive, distinct change in usability. Surface Pros are far too big to really use as a handheld tablet, and surface go was too small to use as a laptop (and sucked as a tablet due to i

Actual size comparison this time: MacBook 12-inch, Surface Pro 12-inch, and Surface Go

The Surface Go is the perfect size tablet, until you try to type on it, haha. The Surface Go Type Cover is easily one of the best mobile keyboards, but it is very cramped. Some people have a hard time getting used to it. The 12-in model should avoid all that, but it is clearly not as compact.

Trade in Surface go 1 for a Mcdonald's small fries

I traded in my Surface Go in July 2023 to Samsung and got $100 for it. It was the base Go with 4GB/64GB. I had to send it in to MS twice prior to trade-in because of this crap https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-go-or-surface-go-2-turns-on-and-shows-no-bootable-device-5348cd7c-b417-4

Hard drive off a surface go

To be fair, Microsoft's naming scheme is ridiculous. Surface laptop, surface go, and surface laptop go are all different products sold at the same time.

Surface Pro 12" (2025) is too expansive for what you get.

I got it when it was discounted to £599 in the UK which I think is a fairer price and I love it. It replaced my Surface Go 2 which I found perfectly adequate as a secondary travel device for managing websites and doing a bit of coding. Looks and feels great. Snappy too. I understand why it is priced

Considering FW 12, but I have a couple of questions.

How much faster is it than a Surface Go 2? Anything is faster than a surface go 2. I have one, too. >Does the keyboard shut off in tablet mode or is accidental typing from holding it going to be a problem? Fedora 42 KDE supports shutoff of the keyboard and touchpad >Anything else that should convinc

Linux Mint on Surface Go 1 - let's see if this is a bad idea!

Ive tried couple of distros on my surface go 2, for laptop style use i would recomend Linux Lite its blazing fast and low ram usage, less than 1gb of used ram, customize it little bit and you'll get nice modern and fast PC. For tablet i would choose fedora gnome, it takes 2gb of ram usage tho and th

What do you think about your Surface?

Have a Surface Go 3. Had some mishaps with the pen at first, but got it replaced and it was smooth sailing afterwards. Except for the battery - can't get more than 4-5 hours out of it, even at low power. Can't wait for an updated Surface Go with an ARM chip - the size, portability, and price are per

Surface Pro 12” vs 13”

You shouldn't get one of these just because of the violet color. Microsoft's pictures are misleading. I have the 12" in violet and it's a very subtle almost bluish shade. I thought it was gray at first. Here is a picture with my grey Surface Go on the left and the violet Surface 12" on the right. Ta

MKBHD's video about the Mac Neo feels like he purposely didnt mention Surface laptops. Instead used

Surface Go tablets were also underpowered. The fastest available was the Go 4 with an Intel N200 and the iPhone chip in the Neo is magnitudes faster.
