Trade in Surface go 1 for a Mcdonald's small fries
I traded in my Surface Go in July 2023 to Samsung and got $100 for it. It was the base Go with 4GB/64GB. I had to send it in to MS twice prior to trade-in because of this crap https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-go-or-surface-go-2-turns-on-and-shows-no-bootable-device-5348cd7c-b417-4

Can we consider this a laptop now?
What are the specs? I'm still feelin' more of a tablet gadget vibe, with an attachable keyboard accessory. Surface Sumo, as compared to the svelte surface pro, and the downright underfed surface go. Laptop, to me, means "Clamshell body'.

Surface Pro 12” vs 13”
You shouldn't get one of these just because of the violet color. Microsoft's pictures are misleading. I have the 12" in violet and it's a very subtle almost bluish shade. I thought it was gray at first. Here is a picture with my grey Surface Go on the left and the violet Surface 12" on the right. Ta

MKBHD's video about the Mac Neo feels like he purposely didnt mention Surface laptops. Instead used
Surface Go tablets were also underpowered. The fastest available was the Go 4 with an Intel N200 and the iPhone chip in the Neo is magnitudes faster.

Considering FW 12, but I have a couple of questions.
...How much faster is it than a Surface Go 2? Anything is faster than a surface go 2. I have one, too. >Does the keyboard shut off in tablet mode or is accidental typing from holding it going to be a problem? Fedora 42 KDE supports shutoff of the keyboard and touchpad >Anything else that should convinc

Surface Go 2 Linux
I got a secondhand GO 2 a few months back, and it's been fine (much better than the Go 3 I have, which has a bunch of annoying glitches that haven't been resolved over the few years I've had it). To answer your questions: I nuked Windows immediately after verifying the system started up and worked,

Are new Thinkpads worth it?
I have two chipped top teeth - and one of those stories involves a convertable tablet, and a slightly unsteady grip. There are few things more horrifying than battering ones self in the jaw with an xp era HP tablet convertable thingee that was being held aloft to watch......something or other, while

Surface Go 1 for $50?
Feedback from a person who just bought a surface go 2 for $80 on Amazon. Pay the extra money if you really want one, I got one because I needed a Windows base tablet and didn’t want to pay a lot of money. I’m not gonna lie. It’s gonna be super laggy and slow. Make sure to get one that is on Windows

CachyOS + COSMIC DE
Cosmic doesn't have a way (that i could find) to have an on-screen keyboard on login. That's the only deal breaker or i'd be running cosmic. Can't live without it on a tablet (Asus Z13 flow & surface go 3)

surface go
It's not exactly what I would have done, but you can't go wrong switching to Linux on any device if your aim is to tinker and whatnot. I've not done this specifically, but the first concern that jumps to my mind is questionable support for things like the touchscreen. You'd likely need the linux-sur
