Surface (Pro) 12in: Where have you been all my life?

This is the feedback I'm interested in. This obviously is a spec downgrade from the 11, but the size makes it a competitive, distinct change in usability. Surface Pros are far too big to really use as a handheld tablet, and surface go was too small to use as a laptop (and sucked as a tablet due to i

Actual size comparison this time: MacBook 12-inch, Surface Pro 12-inch, and Surface Go

The Surface Go is the perfect size tablet, until you try to type on it, haha. The Surface Go Type Cover is easily one of the best mobile keyboards, but it is very cramped. Some people have a hard time getting used to it. The 12-in model should avoid all that, but it is clearly not as compact.

Trade in Surface go 1 for a Mcdonald's small fries

I traded in my Surface Go in July 2023 to Samsung and got $100 for it. It was the base Go with 4GB/64GB. I had to send it in to MS twice prior to trade-in because of this crap https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-go-or-surface-go-2-turns-on-and-shows-no-bootable-device-5348cd7c-b417-4

Recommendations for CSP-compatible tablet 'on the road'

For this sort of thing, I use a Microsoft Surface 3, which is a 10.8" tablet that runs Windows 10. This is a rather old model, which is both good and bad: none of them have fresh batteries (which are nearly impossible to replace), but they're also available pretty cheaply. It's under-powered, so it

What do you think about your Surface?

Have a Surface Go 3. Had some mishaps with the pen at first, but got it replaced and it was smooth sailing afterwards. Except for the battery - can't get more than 4-5 hours out of it, even at low power. Can't wait for an updated Surface Go with an ARM chip - the size, portability, and price are per

Surface Apps are a joke

The Amazon App Store was nearly a desert for the short time it was there. And Google didn't collaborate with Microsoft on the WSA then - doubt they have an incentive to collaborate now. Though to be fair, it always advertised itself as a laptop-first device - all the ads they used to do included the

Can we consider this a laptop now?

What are the specs? I'm still feelin' more of a tablet gadget vibe, with an attachable keyboard accessory. Surface Sumo, as compared to the svelte surface pro, and the downright underfed surface go. Laptop, to me, means "Clamshell body'.

Can't do it any more

All 5 tablets? Maybe time to buy a better access point? I use Unifi and have not had problems on a Surface Go, Surface 7 and Surface Pro 12.

Bought a Surface Pro and immediately installed Linux on it lol

This is the way. I actually have a Surface Go 3 that I use for a tablet/travel system running Solus Plasma and love it. It upsets my brother-in-law who works for Microsoft, so bonus.

How can i live with bare minimum

My 'tablet' is a surface go 2 with 8GB ram running Fedora KDE Plasma and it's just fine. Granted I'm just doing lite stuff but everything runs fine.
