Brand new chromebook. Only payed like 200 or 300 for it. But how. Absolutely nothing installed on it
I do know what I said as I never lied. I have bought a Lenovo Thinkpad P53 with these specs: i7-9850H CPU Quadro T1000 GPU (horrible but better than nothing) 32GBs of RAM 512GB M.2 NVMe If you dont understand what GBP and Thinkpad P53 is, just search it up online mate.

P16 Gen 3 - Real-world experiences before I pull the trigger? concerned about power limitations
I'll be genuinely impressed if it can even sustain 180W load with its form factor, usually that's reserved to those comparatively ancient 5cm thick desktop replacement gaming laptops. I'm more worried about the port wearing out - I undock my P53 daily and have had the dock for the best part for 4 ye

Considering buying a P53
I bought the Lenovo ThinkPad P53 in this constallation --> i7-9850H 32GB 512GB SSD NVIDIA RTX3000. Strong points are: The Notebook is powerful and durable. I can have multiple programms open without problems and the baby of a friend at some point walked on top of the Notebook (it was closed) and not

Can I simply use the M.2 port?
The physical m.2 slot is used for both NVME (which is PCIe) and SATA (which is not PCIe) and possibly a few other things. Additionally, firmware/"BIOS" can technically have whitelists indicating exactly what hardware it will accept in an otherwise perfectly fine PCIe m.2 slot. My Lenovo P53 will com

my first ThinkPad and yes I read the wiki
Upgrade the Thunderbolt firmware. It may still have one affected by the bug that’s causing self destruction. https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/solutions/ht508988-critical-intel-thunderbolt-software-and-firmware-updates-thinkpad Even if it is not listed as an affected device, we hade some P53 that got

Cleaning fans of P53
it took me around 2-3 hours, only to find out one of the screws on the hinge is stripped so I can not proceed anymore. just reaching the fan is so convoluted, you have to go through a lot. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht509006-removal-and-replacement-videos-thinkpad-p53-20qn-20qq You h

R400 absolute tank
I spilled a whole drink on my P53 at the bar all over the keyboard. Don't git commit at the bar guys. The membrane didn't work any good after it and I had to pay 50€ to replace it. I should have bought the official lenovo keyboard that was 80€ because the one I got from aliexpress was dogshit. The T

What would you like to add to your ThinkPad?
That is P53 on the table. Look at the cooling in the center. I dismantled both many times and they are designed vastly different from the component placing point of view. They have the same TDP (45 W, i7-3720QM and xeon e-2276m). But somehow the xeon instantly rushes to turbo mode on Windows, while

wake from sleep/suspend on fedora 42
They are both Lenovo laptops. Linux community swears up and down about Thinkpads but I'm pretty upset that after days of troubleshooting I can't use the sleep function on my IdeaPad or my P53 ThinkPad. Its broken both.

P50 or P52 for digital art?
Battery and temps are unfortunately not the strongest suit of these machines, but provided you aren’t pushing them too hard and find a balanced power/cooling setting it should be fine.. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-P52-i7-P1000-FHD-Workstation-Review.322974.0.html https://www.notebo
