Laptop 13 Pro memory speed limits - what we know
The reason is the insufficient motherboard performance of the Framework 13 Pro (and the TP T14 G7). To fully utilize the speeds of LPDDR5X-9600/8533, a motherboard with HDI (high-density interconnect) technology is required, but the motherboards in the Framework 13 Pro and TP T14 G7 do not meet that

Consensus on P1 Gen 8 vs. upcoming Gen 9
Panther Lake is a marked improvement over Arrow Lake. That being said, nothing wrong with Arrow Lake, and the P1 Gen 8 is a great choice for a productivity machine. The main reason to wait would be if you need 5G, as that is a feature Lenovo newly (re)introduced on the P1 Gen 9.

Mechanical Engineering Laptop
The top-end T1g/P1 models trade battery life for raw performance. I find the Ultrabook Plus model to be a good all-rounder, even for CAD with fewer part counts. All packages are decent deals considering the warranty. Personally, I would wait until the summer for the Lenovo P1 Gen 9 to become availab

P1 Gen8
I personally want a T1G which is a P1 with consumer graphics. Just the idea of a gaming capable ThinkPad really does it for me. I have an X1E gen 2 with a 1650 which does the trick for now. But I do want something newer eventually. Possibly will look to buy at the end of next year when this year's m

Buying Advice: ThinkPad for AI / Cybersecurity Studies
If portability doesn’t matter and performance + quiet operation are the priority, the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 or 3 is the best ThinkPad you can buy. It has HX-series CPUs, the strongest cooling in the lineup, supports very high RAM (ideal for AI and VMs), and sustains heavy loads far better than P1 or X1

Really Looking to move to an AMD Thinkpad but don't love the configurations
Lenovo has made such a model line with the Z13 and Z16, which were high-end AMD models. Unfortunately, they did not sell well, so Lenovo discontinued them. Intel is paying a lot of money to support Lenovo in the development of the X1/P1 line, so naturally, these models are Intel exclusive. AMD did t

Is this the Ultimate Linux Thinkpad??
It’s incredible! But the Intel P14s with the 75Wh battery can win on battery life, P1 8th Gen/P16 for the performance, and X13 for portability. Then there’s stuff like the X220/210Ai, T25 FrankenPad and so on with custom builds/retaining the 7 row. So, everyone has their ultimate Linux Thinkpad in a
