The P1 gen7 had serious issues with the new sensel haptic touchpad (https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/s/6BwGqVATHs) rendering it unusable. It was basically a hardware design issue. That was the only reason I didn’t buy it. Does it happen with the Gen8 as well?

I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad p1 gen7 to replace my tower. They are $$$ but I have no complaints and would recomend it. You can get good deals on Amazon. I have seen the prices jump 30-40% in 2025. So best to shop around. Thinkpad are perfect but shop for the best price.

I snagged a P1 Gen7 in Sept. w/ the OLED touchscreen. I'm pretty picky about color accuracty and deep blacks, and it's been great but not a huge jump in image quality over my ~7year old lenovo. I don't have any complaints about the screen, and I leave it on most of the day but if I know I'm walking
