Planning to switch to OM3

I gave up a Sony A7RIII in favor of my M43 kit and my Leica SL2-S for the OM-3. My use case is “city travel” and the larger cameras and lenses meant my whole travel kit dynamic changed. I’ve attached a photo of the OM-3 with the 12-45 f4 in a Peak Design 3L sling with the 17mm f1.7 II under the divi

Switching from X-T5 to Leica SL2/SL2-S

You have identified the advantages and disadvantages correctly. This ends up being a very personal choice and you have to weigh these tradeoffs for yourself. My personal preference is limiting weight and size which puts you in Q territory. If it has to be an interchangeable lens SL, I’d go with sigm

what are your guys opinion on the leica q 116?

Great camera. I had one, added an SL2–S, then traded both on a Q3. The Typ 116 is definitely in “gateway drug” territory. Downside: the 28mm lens is limiting, especially if you’re coming from interchangeable lens cameras. Upside: that 28mm lens is also the finest optic I’ve shot with. It’s astoundin

Is it a poor decision to purchase an SL2-S if I currently own a Lumix S9?

I do not own a Lumix. But own several Sony cameras along with my SL2-S. Not sure if this is helpful. I wouldnt say its a poor decision, its just a matter of what you want. Even with the sensors being the same. The two cameras are pretty different imo. I purchased the SL2-S a few years back as a gift

Switching from X-T5 to Leica SL2/SL2-S

The dirty little secret is that many Leica shooters have a bag full of Olympus/OM System cameras on the side. Much better system for landscape/hiking/nature photography. I had a SL2-S for a while and I loved it. It was a joy to use; in so many ways it is the Platonic Ideal of a SLR-style mirrorless

M lenses performance on Nikon ZF vs Leica SL2-S vs Lumix S1/5 ?

So as you said, the SL does have an optimized sensor stack for M mount with the same application of microlenses as the native Ms. Does it make a difference? Who knows, I never saw a comparison between the SL2 and S1R (Panasonic camera with the same sensor but without the M mount mods). I will say th

EDC accompaniment to X2D or new lens?

I use leica TL apsc not a good camera, but I like it. Just the color is right for me and Sl2s(too big for you) I didn't buy Fuji because I don't like 28mm. I think you don't need FF, maybe dlux7-8 or GRiii. Griiix Gr4 is better, but if your heart wants to try fuji is not a bad idea because fuji have

Does the SL series cameras feel the same?

To me the images have the distinct Leica look, but the shooting experience is a night-and-day difference. Is street possible with the SL series? Of course, but it's no different from shooting street with a DSLR. I love my SL2-S, but I wouldn't carry it around my neck everywhere I go.

Leica D-Lux 8, M240, M8, M10, Q? - Nepal/Himalaya visit

Have you thought about something from the SL line? I know they tend to be looked at as Leica's red headed stepchild around here but they are great cameras if you are dead set on buying a Leica. They will be a bit larger and heavier than an M or a Q but they do bring full IP54 rating for weather seal

Need buying advice for a Leica AF body.

SL2/-S would be a great match to your Q2. You’re familiar with the sensor already. ISO performance is great still IMO. The SL2s can be had for 2.5k USD and really you have your pick of the crop when it comes to lens choice to pair with your Q2! And if you wanted to get into motion, the SL2/S is a so
