Time flies when those are playing 🔥

Building this studio has been a real passion project. I spent a lot of time treating the room acoustically to get the sound just right, and it’s been totally worth it. Listening to music through these monitors and subwoofer is pure pleasure !!! Why people use hi- fi instead of monitors? Edit: The mo

Disappointed by KRK Rokit RP5 G5 monitor in comparison to old ADAM AUDIO F5

Hey buddy! Sorry I'm late, but this post is actually great :) Trough the all history of existence KRK Rokit line sound monitors, the professionals of sound engineering industry often scolded them for their overly "colored" sound (strong basses and pugnacious tops), which made them not really suitabl

Monitor Selection

Really just depends on your budget mate...IMO studio monitors don't really work great for actual parties. They're near-field referencing monitors for music production...sound lush in the perfect sweet spot/triangle, but a) don't fill a space well and b) get drowned out by people chatter pretty easil

My "do it all" setup :)

My setup is quite similar to the one shown in this comment picture. I've owned KRK Rokit 5 Gens 3's for 12 years without a subwoofer, and when I finally bought the S8.4 last month I was genuinely blown away. I was missing on A LOT of bass and sub info, which is to be expected by the small Rokit 5s.

Speaker Recommendations? (PA vs Monitors)

If you're only playing in a living room, then I'd go with studio monitors. Honestly, unless it's a pretty large room, 5 or 7 inch monitors are probably fine. If you are worried about "thump" then consider adding a sub. I use a set KRK Rokit 7 G4 for home playing and I'm happy with them. Think I twea

What do you consider the best computer speakers after using it long-term?

Studio monitors are overrated for casual use and people don’t talk about that enough. Used KRK Rokits for a long stretch and yeah they’re detailed, but they also exposed every bad mix, every low-quality YouTube video, every random system sound. It got annoying. Not everything you play is mastered we

$300-$450 monitors for trance/rave/hardcore?

I love my Krk rp5 g4s. Negative comments generally are due to previous generations and lack of experience with the g4 and g5s. Narrow sweet spot but I’m sitting perfectly in the pocket and everything is crisp. Pair them with a sub that has a foot switch input. I use an older Krk 10” but 8” would be

Is it worth adding a sub woofer to dj setup?

I have this exact set up. Subwoofer is way more fun. The Krk rp5 g4 is a nice crispy speaker for the price but pretty skinny for bass. With the 10s subwoofer I can make those things feel like at a nightclub. I have the sub on a foot switch so I can turn it off and get full range off the rp5s when I

Monitor Mixing Reference speakers.

For small gigs and on the fly mix cueing, clamping a near field monitor to a monitor console case is tempting but not ideal. Those monitors are designed for rooms with controlled acoustics, and on a flight case or stage surface you’re going to fight reflections, resonances, and general chaos. Open m
